thats true i think if you take care of a dog and they love you there goin to look out for you and yours. bulldogs have good instincts and a lot of times know when something is wrong!

iv got 5 pitbulls that I use for hogs they don't attack one another so no I don't see where this is heading??? MAGXL99 a lot of people giving u shit but don't sweat it. u got to pick ur words better bro. I here a lot of people saying pitbulls cant be guard dogs BS mine are 100% they guard all four of my kids my wife my dad an my house no one would walk into my house or yard for that matter with out asking an I didn't have to train them . all u need is to post a sign that says pitbull on property an that should do the trick lol. shit if u make that dog ur best friend he will die for u don't have to teach them that. for the most part the post are right they just come off like jerks becuz they care about the breed an don't want it to look bad an I totally agree with them. im from Detroit more pitbulls than people now lol but they get used to guard crack houses an shit like that so that's why there busting ur nuts so hard lol

    Hello!

Training a Dog is one thing.
Trying to reshape Its Personality is another.

I don't think anyone was trying to Lecture you but at the same time All the things you want your dog to do involve LOTS of training therefore explaining them turns into a Lecture, there is no Simple way to Put it.

I think its Great That You Rescued The Dog,Kudos for you on that (I Hope you took the necessary steps like check for microchip/Tattoo etc in case he was lost)

You might have felt that there was some Hostility towards your Post but i want to clarify that it is not hostility towards you personally,Its mostly due to the fact that too many people own Powerful breeds and act like they are Just tiny Chiwawa's ,its a misconception...Ever watched Star Trek? Some Klingon's were in Star fleet but in their nature they are warriors its a genetic trait, having one comes with a price.

You want to Train Your Dog,I get that so im going to tell you a couple hints and hope that you can Fulfill them.

FACT-You own a Powerful breed so YOU have to set the rules.

FACT-You own a Dog that genetically was not intended to be aggressive towards people,so Guard Dog might not be the best Thought,Sorry. (All breeds get scared and that a big chunk of their aggression moments)

FACT-Rely on a Reward system,Show the dog Countless times what you want him to do and reward him once he starts doing it,but at the same time don't turn your dog into a Robot....

FACT you need to teach him Coping Skills because he is an adult and Reshaping personality is hard most of the time.

I also encourage you to do the same as i Do..Read about the Breed,Read as much as you can, learn and hopefully everything will go smooth for you Friend.
