90s and clear here in sunny Oregon. Been a long cool spring, so it's nice to see the sun. But what most people who aren't from the NW don't realize, is that summer here on the west coast can be dreadfully dry. We (and CA of course) have a lot of wildfires in the summer. But October through May, we have a lot of rain.

Here something you may not know FD......Mobile Alabama actually gets more rain than Seattle Washington ,they kinda go back forth for the most rainfall. I live very close to Mobile lol so yep lots of rain.Sun is out here man and the ground is so wet you can almost see steam coming from the ground.I did about 2 hrs worth of weed eating and worked some chain spots.I am soaked with sweat.

That's interesting. I am willing to bet that the accumulation of rain happens differently though. Here near Portland, it rarely rains hard. But it will rain lightly for days and weeks on end. I just wish it rained more in the summer to keep the grass green. When I was in CO, it would sometimes rain so hard, it was unbelievable. Oh and another difference that I would guess is that it's probably more humid there on hot days. Here, the humidity reduces when the sun comes out. I visited South Carolina a couple of months ago, and the humidity was noticeable. Oh, and another difference - it cools down here at night. If it's 95 degrees here, it might be 60-65 degrees at night.

Knocking on wood we are on a dry and hot stretch here in NC. We have had record amounts of rain this spring as well.

I lived in Bremerton, Washington for a year or so. Thinking back it never seemed to rain hard, just rained all the time. But the summers were perfect. Warm enough to enjoy but not too hot to make thinks suck.

Here in NC we get really hard down pours for short spurts. Lots of rain can fall in a short time. In the summer if it gets to 90 plus a thunderstorm can pop up out of nowhere. The kicker is that it cools things off for a quick minute but when it stops the temperature rises and the humidity pushes up and off the charts.

The humidity in the south can just about punch you in the face when you open the door to go outside.

Hopefully the rain lets up and allows the river to recede.

Saturday was a hard day to work outside. All the weather stations called for 90-91. The temp at the barn showed 96 and the one at the house showed 95. The humidity was one of those gut punchers too. We got a lot done on the cabin but it was a real sweatin' day.

Today was much nicer. I did not check the gages but it did not feel all that bad at all. Kicker is, I did not get near as much done. Go figure.

I live 40 minutes from work. While we enjoyed a sunny 80 degree evening last night they got 1 3/4" in less than an hour. Go figure.
