Question on Fish lol?

Hi to all I have looked throu the forum to see if any one feeds raw fish but I could not find nothing and I heard Fish is good vitamin food so does any one feed raw fish?

You need to be careful of uncooked fish. I have hear horror stories of dogs getting bad worms. I know there was a thread about this and possible negatives on raw fish. I think if you dig around more you might find it. Cooked is fine

I think if you freeze it for a certain amout of time before feeding it raw it is ok but I'm not sure how long it needs to be frozen.

 

Hey Nell I also saw that on a web page or did someone tell me that :confused: im trying to remember but does that hurt the fish or vitamins?

 

I just know they do it with fish used for sushi to kill any parasites. I think Bobby Rooster said creatine is destroyed in freezing in a thread on raw. That is pretty easy to add in as a supplement

does anyone feed raw fish...

 

I feed tuna, salmon, and trout... All are frozen at least 24 hrs before given raw, or some times cooked. Except for ones they caught fresh and then ate, which ain't good :rolleyes:because of some parasite here but so far nothing happen.
Fish is GREAT for dogs and people!

They get fish every other day, about 1/2 lb per serving because they get a bunch of other food too (meat, eggs, kibble, etc.) Hope that helps.

yes i have fed raw fish to my dogs in the past, all my food is raw, unprocessed food, all natural diet . if you are feeding whole make sure the fish isnt cooked as the bones go harder and can stick in the dogs throat, good luck
