Pure bred or cross SBT??

you don't need to want to fight your dog to want it in tip top shape. its more about the overall health and well being of the dog.

The dog looks like a full stafford also.

 

one of the reasons i like staffords is the variety in "type" some throw to the bulldog ,some throw to the terrier and some are a damn nice blend of the two. what i mean is it is all down to the dogs bone structure (heavy or lighter) and the size of the dogs head (which can account for a lot of weight in stafford )you ask how much should an 18in dog weigh,well it depends on a lot of things some of which i have mentioned prev,the dog in my avatar was 17.5in and weighed between 39 and 42lbs .looking at your dogs pics he appears slightly bigger boned with a larger head,but in time you will come to recognise which is an ideal weight for your dog depending on his vitality and appearence, atb j

Ha! When I first got him some of my friends said he looks like a boxer because he was quite thin so looked more leggy, I'm guessing the SBTs with more Bulldog than Terrier would have the bigger heads? 19" which is the same as some American bullies. (Is anyone on here a fan of them? They're like little Hippos but people still refer to them as Pitbulls :confused: but they can weigh about the same as me 130 lbs, little fat monsters! Still cool though). Is/was that your dog in your avatar? Nice dog anyway.

Just a quick update, Logan has lost 2.5 bs, not a whole lot but it's a start. I've had him on the flirtpole, it's been going quite well.

Stafford imo. Good to hear your getting him in shape.

 

Here's only a few pictures, the last picture is of Storm, she's been on the flirt pole aswell but i think she's figured out how it works now. We havn't been doing it for all that long but when we do finish they both sprawl out on the floor in a pool of syiva. I've been looking for places to let him off but can't find anywhere without other dogs being there I got another offer of studding Logan out a few days ago too.

 

He's a good looking hound! It's hard to say what he's crossed with, just looks like a big Staffy. If you look in the picture gallery of " 80's to present day" I have pictures of Magpie an Irish staff APBT cross, she should be longer legged but isn't, so it just proves that knowing the cross doesn't always mean the dog is going to look like it's supposed too

 

primus your obviously putting some effort in . be patient cos things dont happen overnight. have you noticed a change in your dogs temperament since you started ? just a tip ,i would hand walk him for say 20mins before and after the flirt pole. just like athletes need to warm up before and cool down after workouts. it can help prevent injuries,,
