Hi, this is my first time on posting on this site, this is my Staff Logan, he never came with papers so theres no real way to check exactly what he is, I do want to see what other people think aswell.Other owners who have/did have SBT's comment on his size, he's 18 inches at the shoulder and weighs 49 lbs so not a huge dog but is quite big for a Staff and he's not barrell shaped like alot of the other Staffs i've seen, I walk him quite alot too and he doesn't over-eat. People have said he looks like he's got PitBull or Am Bulldog in him, im quite sure he hasn't got any PitBull. In the photos he looks solid black but he has brindle stripes running along his left side and on his back legs. He's good with people, even strangers (which I don't like too much) but he is very dog aggressive with dogs who are off leash, especially Rottweilers.

    Thanks

PODGY!?! No Way!!! LOL, maybe it's because he's quite tall he looks alot leaner compared to the Staffs around here, they look like the show type Staffs, short legged and........podgy.

Thanks for the replys guys, the person I bought him from did say he'd grow into a long legged staff, but he didn't come with papers, the red Staff is my bitch Storm (X-Men:o).

Na, I didn't think you were, sorry if it came across like that. As long as he doesn't get too big i'm fine with that lol but apparently he's still got more filling out to do, i'll put up pictures when he's all filled out, i've got a feeling i'll be agreeing with you with the podgy thing lol.

Primus the dog looks like a stafford to me. He looks ok but as others have said he could probably lose a couple of pounds. Incidentally staffords are supposed to be good with people, even strangers. Given their history they had to be.

What do you mean by "act better"? Any suggestions as to help him lose the extra lbs? Thanks in advance

move around and breathe better. what and how much u feed him?

I usually give him dry food, I'm not sure the amount but enough to make me think I might be overfeeding him, I'll weigh up how much when I feed him next and let you know. How much would you say he should be weighing at 18"? Thanks again, apprecitate it.

    looks good, but indeed, overweighted.

how about 200 grams of kibbles a day? ;) maybe even less until he lost some

YAH lets starve the poor guys PET..!Unless you plan on fighting the dog WHICH I KNOW YOUR NOT he looks fine.Even you know it I can tell. That dog is far from puggy. If you exercise him 5 times a week hard like running or biking with him along side,,treadmill,,fish pole,,spring pole,,hill climbing,,weight pull and dragging,,swimmimg etc.. yah maybe the you could get him down to 45lbs rock hard. With that you can feed him a more cuz he's burning a ton of calories. But if your just walking him,,playing fetch,,playing with other dogs he's fine.Just keep an eye on his build.Just a different point of view.

Thanks.. Naa, I'd never fight him, maybe he is just big built =S, like I said earlier, I don't give him enough food to make me I'd be overfeeding him and I do walk him 3 times a day (not hardcore power walking or anything, I've had 2 operations on my hip already......only 21!), only problem is I can't let him loose. I've never thought he was podgy tbh but he's my first Staff and you guys seem to know what you're talking about even if you don't all agree, I'm just glad he doesn't look like a show type.
