Puppy Housetraining Help

Discussion in 'Training & Behavior' started by Bulldogges, Jan 26, 2015.

  1. I have a 9 week old american bulldog puppy, and I'm working on housetraining him. He is doing very well not going in his crate. The problem I'm having is when he is out of the crate in the house he will pee in the floor. How do I work on correcting this?

He is being taken outside very often and goes outside, but it's like he don't understand to not also go in the house.

    Thanks guys.

It takes time and patience in my experience, and i'm sure with most. My dog is a house dog and so was the other before he passed and at that age I took them out like every half hour even if I knew he didn't have to go. I would immediately grab him when peeing or immediately after and take him out and let them know I was angry, they sense they voice change haha. I always give a piece or two of kibble each time he pee'd outside with praise. Took a while, but eventually they just started wating at the door or giving me the thousand yard stare haha
