Puppies making people sick

Kind of thing that happens when you let dogs lick you in the mouth or handle pups or their shit and not wash your hands. Seems like very few people I come in contact with these days have decent hygiene.

I come in contact with C. Diff, HIV, TB, MRSA, VRE and a long list of other nasty lil bugs every single day at work. Never get sick. Been doing it for 23 years now. Hand washing is the #1 way to stop the spread of germs and it only takes less than a minute. Some folks are just lazy though. I couldn't even tell you how many times a day I wash my hands a day. They stay red, dry and cracking from the amount of Chlorihexidine I use. 10xs worse in the winter. However, I'd rather have dry hands than any of those germs I come in contact with.

Seems most of those cases are from pet stores.

 

AGK: I agree with you. I'm a little bit of a germophobe so I am constantly washing my hands, disinfecting everything. I'm around a lot of dogs, mostly the K-9 bomb dogs and they love to give you kisses on the face. I've never gotten sick.

 

That c-dif is hard to get rid of. Family member got it 3 times back to back.
You have to clean everything with bleach. Its air born. It comes out of your pores to spread

 

Yep, high level disinfectants like Chlorihexidine, Quat256, Klenzyme ect. alone won't kill it. Has to be a product containing bleach. C. Diff is a spore and they are harder to kill. Prions are even worse. CJD or Mad Cow being one of the more popular prion diseases. Handwashing also stops the spread of all them as well.

 

What's weird for me is. Its caused from anti biotic and then use antibiotics to kill it. Diarrhea and puking. It's some kind of special antibiotic that makes you feel even worse.
Supposed to eat special to. Yogurt for live cultures and other foods to replenish your good bacteria in your stomach since antibiotics kill the good bacteria.

 

More and more deer are found to have mad cow ( brain wasting disease) The deer walk around like zombies.

 

Chronic Wasting Disease is a little different than CJW but yes becoming a problem in deer populations and is also a Prion. Both attack the neurological system of their host. I have yet to see one with it but they say it's all over PA and quite a few other areas in the US and Canada.

 

I used to get sick a lot after grading papers, checking notes and things like that. Once I stared washing my hands after I touch things from my students I stopped getting sick. Most people are nasty, so hand washing is key to staying healthy! Don’t even get me going on grappling with nasty ass people that have ringworm or MRSA, don’t say shit and spread it.
