Oh and anyone TRYING to sell you a dog I would avoid like the plague... YOU should do the research and pound the pavement on what YOU want.....

Right on! Never do business with the eager. Eager=hungry=u get the shaft 9 out of 10 times.

before you go even thinking about "starting a yard", how about do your homework. you have alot to learn- "first apbt puppy" and "starting a yard" should never be uttered anywhere near each other. its just another ruse of the backyard breeder...and we have an over abundance of those already.
read, read, ask questions, read, ask more questions. dont worry about starting a yard-the dogs will thank you

its better to start a yard wit a proven male and female not a pup.u shuld first do alot more research.breed dogs for the RIGHT reasons, and u shuld only do it if you can add sumthing positive to the breed.

    I'll say...

What is it about this breed that people think that breeding is the first step? Whatever happened to growing up with some dogs, doing everything WITH them BUT breeding -- reading, visiting, traveling, showing, and building a LIFE beyond DOGS? Breeding is just one part of being in dogs that kind of evolves as you spend years with them...

Exactly what I was going to say. Why do you want to breed apbt's is it cause your friend just got one and you thought they were cool? Or maybe you need a quick buck? What ever the reason imo it sounds like your kind of getting into this on impulse you should really think things through.

  11. just looking for a pup or 2 to start with. thanks for the advice though ralley racer a pup it will be years before i start a yard and i have been doing home work. dreamer again a pup it will be at least year plus before i even try to breed.i didnt grow up with dogs i have to start somewhere. cstole dont want to jump in to fast with adults i want to start slow and small to learn and grow with them. dr gonnzoe i do have friends with dogs but they didnt just get them had them for years and why im not getting them form him i want my own i dont want to copy my friends lines i havent been ready or feel i knew enough or capable of having a apbt dog until now this is not i woke up today and wanted one or havent thought about it and its not for a fast buck work a full time job and pick up shifts when some on needs a day off on the weekends and before anyone asks yes i have the time to put into this.,thank you charles

Let-me tell you straight! Breeding dogs is a pain in the ass and pit-bulls more than most. I hope you don't like going any-where ever bacause if you do who's going to watch your dogs? Two I hope you don't have any neighbors because the minute they find out you have a yard of these dogs (and they will) they're going to flip.3 finding decent people to sell or give your dogs to is always a chore. And 4 by the time you pay for food, vets, shelter, collars, and on and on and the fact that you're not known so you'll be competing with every-other back-yard-breeder out-there you won't make no money. You're better-off raising fish they,re cheape they don't shit all over the place and tear stuff-up and they die before you get to attached to them

  13. thanks for all the help in finding my first puppy.

Yeh I gathered that! Not fuckin happy either mate. I know im no bloody dogmen but i have been around dogs my whole life. My father and grandfather hunted. It seems some people have no fucking idea about dogs in general let alone these dogs! It gets a bit sad i reckon. :(
I hear worm farms are pretty easy and beneficial;)
