I got home last night to see one of my puppies shaking the body of his brother. Both pups had bite marks so I can only assume it was a confrontation. Sucks to say my pup didnt make it. They're 3 months old, has anybody had any pups like this?

Quite common once they get to about 3mnths we separate them.Sorry for your loss but at that age they shouldn't be together unsupervised.

I haven't had any personally try to take each other out that young but I have heard stories about some that will fight at an early age. Usually though it's always a good idea to put them in different crates when you leave. From the time mine are 8 weeks old they have their own crate. I let them play together when I am there to supervise. Just going forward you might want to make sure you keep them kenneled separately when you are not home. Sorry for your loss.

thanks Sadie, I just had a friend pick up a pup today to minimize my yard. My neighbor told me the dogs on the chain were barking hard while it happened. They would've came and broke it up, but they weren't going to come into the yard even if my big boys are on chains.

  9. my buddy had 3 pups about a year ago 2 females 1 male @ 8 weeks the 2 females disemboweled the male...he let them out when he got home and 5 minutes later he went to let them in and the damage was already done...it was horrible..and he calls me to help come clean it up. go figure..sorry for the loss. and there teeth are like razor blades at that age

Sorry to hear about that.. I've only only seen that happen during feed with pups that young. That's a first for me really. Sound like some bad lil Mofos.

that's some serious imagery torn from six. Any idea what caused your pups to do that?

  12. no idea? they were not eating or anything...he just let them out the kennel to run around.. he didnt tell me what it looked like...but when i got there it was nasty....they were down off hunter red..the guy who had bought both the bitches say they are very serious dogs

I agree, I separate pups between 7-8 weeks and only together when supervised. Had broke up many at 9-10weeks that were playing n got into it. Sorry for your loss

I lost my whole hard a few months back due to 2 sisters getting out of the kennel and gutting and neutering all the males that were on chains (7 total), but neither one of the bitches are turned on..

Made a breeding about 11 yrs ago. Told my partner to seperate the pups cos these dogs are known to turn on early. He didn't listen and had to spend the bucks for reconstructive surgery on that pups shoulder. Fortunate he was there to break it up otherwise the result would've been way worse.
