  3. LOL THIS IS GETTING OUT OF HAND.

I understand alot of people on here do not like rap - A+ FOR YOU, thats great.
theres people on here who hate country
theres people on here who hate rock
theres people on here who hate emo

And honestly who cares about his past?? When did this post ever intend to bring up this guys past actions? the topic was "pretty good speaker, a rapper at that" - Not - "a pretty good speaker, a past convict at that"

Who gives a crap what he has done, Thats exactly what it is, DONE - and from the looks of it, he doesnt seem like that bad of a guy

the fact of the matter is, this man is standing up, making songs, doing speeches, and DEFENDING THE BREED YOU LOVE - yet you sit here and bash him because of the way he acts and talks?
Sounds to me, when it comes to dogs he's a pretty responsible guy - and dogs is the reason this forum is here - so why even get all pushy on this guy?

Rap or no rap he loves the breed, stands up, defends it, and speaks about it

    THAT deserves some respect.

  14. I found myself not able to sleep tonight because of this thread. So here I am 330am....
I want to first say that I am prepared and willing to take the bashing I feel I going to get from this post. I have read and re-read every post on here and have to say this:
I am going to start by saying that I am very appreciative of this man who has stood in front of a crowd and made a speech on behalf of every one of us who are very dear to this breed.
I aslo do not care for the fact that this thread has turned into some racial issue amongst some members, when there is no need for it.
I am not agreeing with them nor am I condoning any of the sly/rude remarks made about him for doing what he did, however, I could possibly understand where some people are coming from if any of you posted in this thread:
http://www.game-dog.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18954 you should be able to relate with what I am about to say.
The reason I say this is because, we have been discussing and have pretty much agreed that your appearance does affect the way people judge our breed.
Now because most of us appreciate the speech that has been made, and we all (most) own APBT's we may be a little blind to what I am about to say.
If outsiders were to see this man walking down the street with a pit bull, how do you think they would precive this? Because he does fit in one of those stereotypes that get judged so badly by others.
I can imagine that most people would say something like "Another hoodrat with one of THEM dogs, go figure" We have come to the conclusion that this does not help our breed.
Now these same people see this man fitting in one of those stereotypes trying to defend this breed, in their eyes it is almost worse than walking one down the street. To them it doesn't say much about the people defending these dogs. It says to them "Oh look they are trying to save their dogs so they can still fight them" OR "What does he care about these dogs, they always mistreat them, abuse them, give them drugs to make them meaner than they ALREADY are" thats what these people are seeing and thinking. Just like they see others walking down the street with the hat tilted sidways and the pants to ground, showing their underwear or piercings from head to toe or tatoos covering their bodies, they think the same thing. Why would they think any different when they one of those people trying to defend this breed?
I believe that these 2 threads have a lot in common with each other, it is kind of like the sock with the shoe.

I will say again, I am not condoning anything certain members on here have said, and only made this post, to maybe help others see a broader view of the picture.
I am going to end this with....thank you for standing up for our breed. It will always be appreciated in these neck of the woods.

Now having said all of this, I am going to get me some shut eye!

Well I did not post this for the guy to get ridiculed, I posted it because I think he did a great job with the speech, I don't give a F**k what he has done in the past he stood up for the breed that I love and thats all that matters to me.

oddly, I, too, was thinking a lot about this post as well, late last night, and typing to someone about it...

no doubt Marty. To me the past is considered the past for a reason. HOPEfully, as I mentioned earlier, IF you've made mistakes in yours, you've:
    1). HOPEfully learned from them
2). are wise enough not to repeat them, and
3). have become a better person, as a RESULT from them.

To those who continue to bash this guy, based upon his 'past':
imo, you are no better than those who judge 'us', because we choose to own "pit bulls". and if you want to bash me for this as well, feel free. I've no problem with that.

The people who make an impression with me, are the ones who are willing to see beyond the surface, and appreciate WHO I am, and not what I look like. IMO, THAT defines a person's TRUE character AND their true colors. And since I completely LOVE the APBT, anyone who chooses to honor and defend this breed has the depth of character that I would like to have in my life.

Who am I, to judge ANYBODY, based upn their past???????
    and who are you???

  20. Suki hits the nail on the coffin..
How can you possibly judge this guy on his past, and make such comments, when you own a breed that EVERYONE judges them by they're past.
Not to mention, even though the guy is 'rapping' - he is still defending your dog.
