I'm wondering if it's right or if it's ok...

If you wear rose-colored glasses you'll bound to see a halo around the head of the dog and handler (K-9 team), yet take them off and you'll see the light better!
IMO a job poorly executed, as the men (do we take note of a color difference or just ignore it:-?....smh) were simply standing their ground in a non-threatening manner however the handler still deemed it necessary to send his dog in which then resulted in the dog appearing to be unwilling to release it's hold.

Yes,more training for the dog is required to hopefully improve it's working capability. My thoughts on the handler is best left unsaid.

The situation didn't even require the dog to begin with. This is why people hate cops. Well, one of the many.

I will respectfully disagree. Either the handler gives the command OR removes the dog.
I agree. I watched the video again. The guy was already on the ground. No need for the K-9. I will stick to my thoughts on these dogs though.....once released to attack, either the handler gives the command or removes the dog.

As you can see in this video, the dog is removed by the handler.

You can see the handler trying to get the dog to let loose . This doesn't take forever . A good trained dog will release as soon as the command is given . You don't have to beg them to let loose . Now if the guy is still moving the dogs isn't going to let up until he stops .

I know a ton about this type of working dog. Some of them are just crazy. Especially the Malinois. The bomb dogs are different. They are labradors and very calm. Although some of them are a bit crazy too.
This is a question about the pit bull breed. Hypothetically speaking, and just to compare.....when the dog is in the pit, how do you get the dog to stop? It's not a good comparison in my opinion...apples and oranges...but I'm curious.

Look at my video. Those handlers have to remove the dog.

A break stick. Same thing them K9 handlers should have to keep close and know how to use so when their dog is too geeked up to listen it can still be removed from the person. That dog would have been off in less than 10 seconds with a stick.

I hope the guy sues the shit out of that PD.

Agreed! I hope the guy in the video should sue. There was no need to even release that dog. Really, the only time you should release the dog is if the suspect is running or if the suspect is attacking the handler.

Few points, the "minor" lawyer being all bad ass then losing their mind did make me chuckle.

Dog does have a shit out. Should've been way more easily broken off the suspect. Again that goes back to poor training/handling. The dog was doing its "job" so i wont sit and bash the mutt.

Funny story about these "amazingly trained" pos dogs though.... i went to hs with a complete fucking twat. He was a puss in school, puss when he failed to make it through navy boot camp, and a bigger puss when he came home. After working at a Big R this douche decides to become and cop and goes the k9 route. Get this big ass mutt goes through all the training and is usimg the dog daily for over a year. One night hes at home playing with his K9 and the motherfucker latched onto dudes face and shook the fuck out of him. After reconstructive surgery and a long spell off duty dudes comes back with a fucked up face and a new dog lol.

Not every k9 is immaculately trained and most the handlers are even less trained.

Ummmm I've seen them use dogs more than once for a known technique called "compliance bite".... no running or fighting needed. Act a little reckless, pull away, roll some on the ground while they try to cuff you and boom "compliance bite"....

And many people have thought to do so and got there fingers mashed..mals and shepherds will snap/reposition in a flash imo only mastiff/bull breeds should be separated in that way.

While I agree that mals are a different "crazy", a breakstick is better than nothing. But again, either the handler will command a release or the handler will physically grab the dog.

No doubt mate anything is better than nothing just don’t think there suited to it. Again I’m of the opinion that if your dog can’t/won’t out then it’s not suited for the job or it’s been poorly trained but each to there own everyone sees different things in the dogs.
