PitBull wilderness hunt

Discussion in 'Hunting' started by Primitive Supply, Feb 17, 2014.

  1. We had a three day wilderness survival skills training, with the Bulldogs of course. The total was five armadillos (didn't show all of the armadillos because too graphic). Three ducks, with slingshot only, on the wing. And finished with three squirrels with slingshot only, plus a lot of help from the Bulldigs. .....PS

  7. Sometimes the squirrel will come down the tree looking for refuge on the ground. When that happens it's game on with the Bulldogs. Oother time we kill them in the tree with the slingshots. Then it's just the Bulldogs that go and pick them up. I have them trained to not destroy the meat. After returning to base camp we cook the squirrels and everybody gets a bite, including the dogs. Bones and all for the Bulldogs PS We have a great time with these dogs in the field just training for the living off the land scenerio. Check out my website and you can see more than I can explain. www.primitivesupplyslingshots.com

  11. I'm down for some serious OLD Tyme Rat Baiting. The same way they did back in Ireland back in the late 1700s, and through the 1800s. I'm just trying too put the whole thing together. Anybody, had any experience with this type of sporting activity with the Bulldogs?

Rat hunting is fine but I think rat baiting is not allowed by law it's a shame too ......

  14. Yeah I kinda figured that rat baiting is unlawful. I do catch and kill Rats in the field, but, that's just singles when we find them. The Rat baiting could be a lot of fun, if it was legal. Guess I'll forgo that idea, and stick with my small game hunting. The only problem for me is the season is too short, and the dogs want too go more often. I'm looking for something to keep them catching year round. PS

So you give em cooked bones?

  19. The slingshots are for all the wild critters we find, mostly squirrels. Raccoons, ducks, anything that is good to eat. The dogs get the carcus FULLY COOKED. Sometimes there could be worms in the squirrels, and other wild game that we get. The dogs love it and they are trying to do the same thing that you are doing, so it's a TEAM effort....PS

you could turn this into a business (vermin control) - -lots of places that use corn to make ethanol would likely hire someone to go in and clean up the varmits!! -
