I think we had a laugh about this last year:

Like I've said a gozillion times: if I knew then what I know now my screen name would not be "LuvinBullies". Now not only do I get confused with an American Bully fancier but it sounds so screetchingly cheesy and teeny weeny bopper. Now it's like Rodney Dangerfield said: "I can't get no respect".

And of course the friggin' punchline is that I can't think of anything else and I'm too lazy to brainstorm so it stuck. :cool:

Well, I try to educate anyone I come across who thinks that some of these backyard names are actual bloodlines, or worse, separate breeds! 9 times out of 10 they leave angry or in disbelief, but if I can just educate that 1 person, it makes me feel like I accomplished something. I guess this is why I tolerate dumb people.

I could tell you stories about quite a few that I have ran across, and I have made a difference. I finally broke through on my step-son's father. He always liked bragging about 100-150 lbs "pits". Now that he is listening to me a little, he is actually reading some of my old Richard Stratton books and at least quit calling them "Pits".

Educating the ignorant is the only reason I put up with ignorance itself.

 

Oh, I agree with the educating....I like to do the same, however, we all know that saying..you can lead a horse to water......but you cant make it drink....
I would try.......BUT after trying got me nowhere and they were not willing to listen only insult the REAL thing..... then I would not be as nice....

 

Depends if I have to deal with the person on a regular basis. Like I said, it took me nearly three years to make my step-son's father see the light. On the other hand, people I'll never see again, fahget about it.

 

Pit (1) = A hole in the ground! Think thats what the early Pits were....

I feel the same way about "Pit." Unfortunately (bless her heart) my wife found this site a few years back, made me an account, and surprised me with it. It was a very sweet thing to do....but she put it in my darn screen name. Oh well....not that big of a deal amongst company who knows better.
