Pit....???

Is a hole in the ground...sometimes from an unknown cause and can not see the bottom eg...bottomless pit!

I know this has been touched before...thought it might need to be brought back up again....for educational purposes!

American Pit Bull Terrier = A one of a kind dog, that doesnt get any better than it is the way it is.....

Pit (1) = A hole in the ground!
Pit (2) = inner (core) of some fruits

PIt (4) = hairy area under a human arm. often having a distinct odor from perspiration......From boogieman!...lmao

The word "PIT" sounds so slang and (I will refrain from the word in which I speak of)
It does not look good on or towards the breed. People hear the word PIT and all hell breaks loose...
Pit bull, is not much better....
Pitt is horrific and should never be used....
APBT is very easy to say and type and refer to when speaking to someone. It is also the most proper way to address this breed...

I just makes me ill lately...all I keep seeing EVERYWHERE..is "MY PIT" or "MY PITTS" it is getting old...

LOL...its funny u say this, i justed messed with some kids head bigtime over the weekend. i was pulling up to a stop sign and i saw some kid at the corner with this good looking little red bulldog, so i proceed to ask him how its bred at which point he looks at me like im effing crazy. He then says hes pure pit, so i go i don't understand are u saying he's a BBQ pit, again he looks at me like im crazy, at this point im trying so hard not to laugh. he then says no man hes pit, so i give him this look like what the hell are u talkin about at which point he gives me the same look lol, would have been the funniest thing to video tape, a bunch of awkward looks from both of us at which point i started cracking up and educated him on the proper way to label his dog

Just saw this thread, funny in a weird way. I had a kid look at Nala the other night at a convenience store, he asked me what my pit was mixed with. HAHA, I told him that she was mixed with the rest of her name, American, Bull, and Terrier. She isn't a pit, she is an American Pit Bull Terrier. He said that she couldn't be purebred because she doesn't have enough muscle?! My conversation went on for a few minutes with this ignorant kid, who told me he has a real pit, it's a 90 lb Gator.

After that comment, I jumped in my truck, laughing my @$$ off. I told him to get some more knowledge before arguing with his elder and I drove off.

Sorry, it's a bit off topic, but wow, people are dumb.

I wrote a response to an American Bully comment on a youtube video. One person said to the others, "Stop attacking this guy. There is no real breed pit bull, so stop calling his dog a mutt." In which I respond, "You are correct. There is no real breed 'pit bull'. There is however a breed called an American Pit Bull Terrier, which is a breed and has a standard. The dog in this video is an American Bully, which I'm not sure if they are selling them under that name, but that's what they are."

So, now I got a hateful letter from an American Bully enthusist who told me that I am just jealous because American Bullies are becoming more popular than my beloved mutt aka the American Pit Bull Terrier, and that the gamebred APBT doesn't look anything like the original either, and that it's the real mutt, and that is why I am mad. I found this odd, because 1. I didn't know I was mad, and 2. the post he was responding to was almost in defense of the American Bully. lol. But I thought what an idiot, he thinks that I actually care which one is more "popular". I wrote him a polite letter back, explaining how his rudeness wouldn't win over anyone, especially not the BSL fans who are willing to take his dog and mine, no matter if one or the other is a supposed "mutt."

But I agree with the other guy, "People are idiots!"

God I cannot STAND when people call them "pitty or pittie" it makes my skin crawl.
