"Pedigree Wars".
Folks these days get excited & brag about what dogs are in there pedigrees.They believe that pedigrees makes the dogs.
Dogs the never owned ,hunted with or even seen. Yet they get excited & want to play the pedigree war games.
I & folks I hung around with were just the opposite & only got excited about what dogs in our pedigrees we got in there with & proved ourselves. Dogs that made the pedigrees.
It didn't matter about what happened before you, but what happened after you got them. Some dogs fade out or just don't work any more. That's what real working yard dogmen know very well.
But actually working & hunting each & every dog from the rooter to the tooter in a ped is the only true conversation piece worth the time to listen. This is the real truth behind what you feed!
Stories get changed as much as pedigrees. More lie these days than anytime before IMO.
More these days dwell in the pedigree's than the dog that's actually in front of them.
It can't be a strait curs that don't even resemble a pitbull but it has a great set of papers on him.
The more names in the peds, the more chances of the real truth may be lost. A none consistent breeding is nothing more than a mutt with papers.
When some one invest his youth into anything they should have something to show for it.
Good proven dogs will get bred re-guard less of past breeding's. Dogs make the pedigrees, pedigrees do not make the dog.These seen with your own eye's dogs become the truth you actually know.
You don't need to go back as far as Colby , but you do have to put in the work in what you feed & breed before you play pedigree wars.
If someone has nothing to talk about other than what others did, then your talking to the wrong person.
That's what Novices do. Not dog men who did it themselves.
Be the history, don't dwell on what you didn't do yourself.

I recently learned first hand why you don't race pedigrees. Lol. Don't be fooled when you don't see a dogs pedigree all lit up with famous dogs in the first 4 generations. Just because one doesn't reconise any names or dogs in a pedigree don't mean that hound won't hand yours it's ass.

 

Good ones are where you find them,,,
but I respect the family behind and ahead of them...

the funny thing is,,,
when a pedigree has no light,,,
its hard to see...

when a pedigree is in the dark,,,
the breeder has to boast them in a better light,,,
to explain the power outtage...

when a mans confident about his dogs,,,
he dont need to boast them all over the internet,,,
seems like the light is shining through that hole you have...

I seen this first hand with a member on here who runs that gonner/alien/bullshit blood nothing is lit up in the 1st few generations but all his dogs are tried and true..that colorful ped don't mean shit at all..

I breed for a hobby & stay to myself. I have no desire to do anything illegal. I know what I feed. I don't have to guess.
And those that know me will tell you I gave away more than I sold over the last 20yrs!
