peddler/backyard breeder

I dont claim to know as much as some but i do know at one time all dogmen were BB and peddlers.These days it seems like people just want to brag about their dogs and put down others who dont the same blood they do.I got into bulldogs because the few good dogmen i had the pleasure to meet were not like any of you people on this site, they were very willing to teach,listen,instruct,etc on any bulldog i owned. Since i learned from good men ive become one.

I totally agree with you BSK, I to am tired of all these know it alls that do nothing but bash people on this forum. Its seems that these people must be gifted from god with all the bulldog knowledge and never made a mistake or had to learn anything. And it also seems that these individuals must be feeding a yard full of aces because they only feed the best dogs. I wish every body would just keep the bull sh** cut downs to them self, there is a great bit of difference between constructive criticism and just bashing people. We all have a common interest and need to educate each other to not only improve our dogs but to keep the positive public image as well.

I think you will find that all DECENT dogmen started in the game for SPORT, then some may have become breeders to cash in on the name, but certainly not all.

As for this forum, ye some people get flamed but if you looked at some of the questions or statements coming from some posters then I can understand it, people here are serious about there bulldogs and when people breeze in with stupid statements and the likes some people take offence, it is these people, the uneducated that are screwing it up for you guys in the US and I can understand why people take offence, if you havent done your homework on this breed then you shouldnt have one, thats why rookie / stupid questions piss people off.

they go buy dogs then need help with the basics.the do deserve some bashing but the dogs are already in there yard and to keep the breeds good name we need to help them with basics and make shure they susceed.i had apbt exp from being younger and already had the basics but learned (pup pedlers are distroying our breed).as every rookie so that this doesnt keep spreading.i understand the frustration that we face when we hear pepole ask stupid questons and i to take it personal! by shutting them out and not helping cause the screwed up wont help our breed.some day the rockies need to be on the other side of the pond only to help our breed. just my opion!

 

I disagree with all Dogpersons being peddlers at some point, backyard breeders maybe, but isn't that where most breedings take place? As far as bashing goes, I'm don't care for it. You said you got in to dogs because of the few good dog persons you MET. "MET" is the key word, I promise you, they would not have been so helpful if you chatted from several hundred miles away with an alias and had never seen or heard there voice. (Not Bashing) but if you became a good person from learning from good people, why don't you give the game away since you think noone here is willing to help.

 

Mike, your right, people do need to be educated and I am all for that, it just pisses me off when people go and buy a dog on a whim without any prior knowledge.
Saying that, I would and will give any assistance I can. I personally havnt flamed anybody here, but I can understand when people do it

I think oldtimer hes basically saying that all dogmen started somewhere,not that they all peddlers or whatever and that new people on this site shouldnt be so heavily jumped on might be wrong though lol

 

I know of a breeder who is constantly called a pedddler, but is actually a good breeder. When I first decided to step up my game I went to him. I had little to no knowledge of bloodlines. The two dogs I got instantly showed me the diff between byb and good dogs. The best route to go is to buy tested dogs; but that is hard to do these days. If I was a little more thin skinned, I would take offense to your post. I won't so i will just give my opinion from what I am reading here. You state that the dogmen you've met are not like anyone on this site. I am always trying to help someone out if they have a question. if someone has asked my opinion and they didn't like my answer, I wouldn't consider it bashing. There are lots of people on this site that are very knowledgable and are willing to help anyone out when needed. Maybe your just not looking hard enough for the answers!

 

To be honest i have learned alot from reading on this site but i just get tired of all the high and mighty bulls**t.Just because some breeds their dogs dose not mean they r peddlers.
Didnt mean to direct this thread to anyone just got tired of reading all this negative chatter.

I understand exactly where Kyle is coming from. I have only been a member of this site for five months now, but I've seen the people who sit on the site and wait for someone new to post a question so that they can bum-rush them with sarcasm. Face it, before you were a :coolog Man:cool:, you were a novice and asked questions based on the level of knowledge that you had about the breed. Some people didnt grow up with dogmen or had a yard of gamedogs all their life, but have always wanted a ABT. You gotta start somewhere...

 

first off i dnt believe that there r any stupid questions.its stupid not to ask if u need help.second i wuld like to say i have asked a few questions myself here n stupid or not i got gud info frm people on this site.there r a few people here that r a bit ruff, but suk it up n move on.we're here for the luv of our breed n hopefully make things better.so if sumbodys hard on u dnt take it presonal,but keep askn when u need help.

 

Suck it up. Good advice, before you post a question read the old threads on the site. Nine times out of ten your question has already been hashed. If you really want to know these dogs nothing will stop you. By the way back issues of the pit bull reporter are fountianhead of info.

 

No matter what sport it is people will talk smack! Like Magnoilaotis said, suck it up! especially as opinionated as you can get with bulldogs. When it comes to breeding, conditioning, raising, schooling, ect. Some people can get a little pushing with their opinions. Ignore them and move on!
