I just framed and fenced in below my 2nd story deck, and I'm looking to used something other then dirt and grass for the floor.

I'm considering taking in a truck load of pea gravel and pouring out on top of the grass.

Anyone have any thoughts on this idea?

Some people like rock dust. It's called different things but your quarry should know what you're talking about.

I would build a wood floor in your kennel like an above ground.

Wouldn't that be a breeding ground for bacteria? I wouldn't think it would hold up well to piss and shit? There is a kennel build in the stickies that uses gravel. Is there a downside to it?

Is the upper deck going to stop the rain from getting in the area? If the dog starts digging with I will become a muddy mess.
