It's a beautiful dog. If I was into this breed I'd want one that looked in phenotype just like that.

  5. Small bit of confusion.

The victorian Bulldog was a dog created in the victorian age after dog fighting, bull baiting and bear baiting was outlawed.it was created by crossing the fighting dogs of the time with the pug.resulting in a fecked up mong from the fist cross.these first crosses were bred in and out of each other resulting in what we would call in this day and age a k.c.bulldog.
why anbody would make this cross is bizare.but money and money only was the motivation.they were more sutible for showing then a raging pure bred fighting dog, and dog shows became so populare in the victorian age its incredible.
hence the reason to create mongs.
the k.c bulldog of today is a direct desendent of these victorian bulldogs.

There is a modern day re created victorian bulldog, that is the result of crossing k.c.bulldogs with bull mastiffs and staffordshire bull terriers.this modern day re created victorian bulldog was created by a man named Ken Merlot from by the London area in England.
it had no conection to working dogs watsoever.that is;it was not bred with a working dog mentality in mind,or along any working dog lines watsoever.
it was bred because Ken Merlot owend a k.c bulldog that he loved and it died because of ill health through a hundred years of bad breeding.
Merlot was deverstated and set out to breed a healther specimin that could manage a walk round the block, pic up its food and actully swollow it proper and live untill the age of ten to firteen years old.he acived this by crossing k.c bulldogs what he considerd healthy with Bull mastiffs and staffordshire bull terriers.he named them vicorian bulldogs witch is hardly a compliment when we consider what a real vicorian bulldog was.

The Am bull has a totally diffrent heritage.
has more of a realation to German lines rather then English.you ever seen a pure white Boxer?
it also has more of a realation to actully being worked on ranches and such.
the modern victorian mutt cross thing has no relation to work watsoever, and i no of pups that were sold only a year ago for three thousand a pup.peddled all over Britian to any one with the daft sence to pay the price for a tough mutt.

The Boxer and the old victorian bulldog are of similare breeding..
the boxer was a working dog untill the 1890s when because of the show craze alas!they crossed the thing with the old vicorian bulldog!.this added the white color to the boxers gene pool but for some reason the early show boxers were a lot better then they early show bulldogs.and for that reason wild specimans would of still been past of to hunters in Germany and the new world.

    All the best folks.

I've seen quite a few pure white boxers and those that were around 90% or more white. My ex mother in-law used to breed them. Never liked the breed personally and the white ones are even uglier than the fawn or brindle ones are. Heart murmurs, blindness and deafness where fairly common in them. AKC won't register them with something like more than 30% white.

AKC has messed up more dogs than any other Kennel Club. If you want a nice pretty dog then AKC is your Kennel Club.

  8. Look at a white boxer from say a hundred years ago.
they are near identicle to a Am Bull.

The ones now are shite of course.
but even fifty years ago the breed was a hole lot better then the ones now.

On the flip side of what im saying here and one may link brindle or fawn boxers with bull mastiffs.if i can say white boxers are the anseters of the Am bull, they i dont see why others wont link fawn boxers with bull mastiffs.

so what im saying about the Am Bull originateing from german stock is neither right or wrong.
as i said pages back theres a link to perhaps Spanish blood to in the am bull.

Its worth checking out the German origens what im talking here though.
