Pacquiao vs Bradley

  1. I'm glad you said that. I agree. Roids or not, I think Floyd would have beat the hell out of him.

Im a life long fan of boxing, as most of you probably are, like dogs I'm old school in boxing.. When the CH is on the line the decision automatically goes to the Champ unless the CH has clearly been punished more than 50% of the rounds. .. IMO Manny Im bias to USA boxing but the CH is the CH .. I lost my avid attention for RJJr when he quit knocking fellas out and started beating them up running the distance. Its boxing... the knockout is what we're after the 12 round stuff is boring unless you have two superb fighters keeping it mixed up. I don't want to watch to fighters hold each other out all day. Its good to see a fighter who has boxing class mind and street brawling character in the ring IMO like having wind, speed, bite, and intelligence... Manny is a game dog. Floyyd aint ever had his oil check yet though has he?

    OR been knocked out.........

  4. Agree 100%. The champ has to be clearly beaten to lose the title. That's the way its always been. The only time that this situation did not hold true was when the other fighter was immensely more popular. Going back to the Sugar Ray Leonard days is when I can clearly say this to be true. I mean the last Leonard Hearns fight comes to mind. When Tommy knocked his ass all about the ring and they gave Leonard a draw. Also, Vito Anatofrimo/ Hagler comes to mind as well.

Haggler got the shitty end of the stick quite a few times lol... I was a huge Roy fan, until he moved up to heavyweight (probably roids), but look what he's been since he came down.. Lost his reflexes which was his greatest attribute IMO.

Anyone see Mr Gary Russell Jr fight last night?? I've been preaching about this guy for months on this site, and IMO h;'s the best to come out of the DC area since Ray Leonard!

  7. No. I'm sorry to say that I cannot get into boxing any longer. I would say it has been that way since probably the decline of the Heavy weight or more the decline of Mike Tyson.

Used to love Roy Jones as well. I cannot say how or why some of these guys squander there money and have to continue to generate revenue with diminished skills. I think with Roy, it was to many left hooks from Antonio Tarver.

I think Tarver ran into Roy at the right time for both. One was on their way up, and the other was on the way down in their careers. Roy should have retired after winning the Heavyweight belt IMO, and I guess he just needs the money. Everyone knows the deal with Roy though, glass jaw...

yep roy IMO was the closest we'll ever see to Ali in this lifetime.. I dont think there will be another heavy weight talent like those two, at least for a while.

How many weight class' did he hold at once? then he got coerced into heavy weight by the powers that be like Mercer supported and pushed fighters like Holyfield . I think both of them should have retired with the heavy weight belt because they just proved it all from class to class nothing left to prove. .. but big money has big costs and the eyes always bigger than the stomach. Roy still is my favorite fighter probably, style and all before he became a rapper he had it all... Yes the glass jaw BUT was so talented and skilled how often did he get touched from his Olympic medal until Tarver? How many belts did he obtain? yeah lb for lb hes the best of the 20th century JMO Started recording fights with the old holyfield days Foreman, Tyson, Morrison, Leonard, Hagler, Jones Jr.. time goes by doesn't it?...

  10. I think your thought that Roy is the best pound per pound fighter of the 20th century is way off. If you want, check out some old tapes of Sugar Ray Robinson. For that matter, check Ray Leonard in his day. If you want to watch the best heavy weight of all time, check out the ROck. Rocky Marciano that is. See if you can tell me why he was the Brockton Block Buster.

so it takes 50 fights to figure out if a fella has a "glass jaw"? a good majority of thoes 50 were top of the rankings & guys that were ch in there divisions. i wonder how many thought the same. " yall must of forgot"

  12. I think it was more that his quickness left him and that he was more susceptible to taking the big shots that missed him for so many years.

my folks and grandpa sure liked both sugar rays .. but if you put them all up together in their prime ?? its all speculation. From everything I seen from the 80s until today its Roy, he worked his way from the bottom up weight wise and everything he beat each weight heavier until he had the heavy weight and not many fighters can attest to that let alone the 50 fight record he held. To each their own but if I was breedin prize fighters I'd have that Jones Jr blood for sure. He had it all...

  14. Great fighters come and go. We all have our favorites. I liked Roy Jones. Liked him much better when he didn't talk.

Lara looked pretty damn good! Russel Jr is from right around the corner from where my Uncle lived in Maryland. I'll take Russell to beat that Cuban champion in that division Gamboa. That would be a hell of a fight!!

It took 50 fights for his reflexes to slow down just to get hit in the jaw lol. He is p4p one of the greatest of all time IMO. Some of his fights were boring, kind of like Mayweathers though. Why force the issue if you are winning...

  19. The Question is who did he beat? Bernard Hopkins was a top flight fighter. John Ruiz was not. James Toney was not. A lot of past there prime solid fighters on his resume.rofessional boxing record

Is Roy still the only boxer to go a complete round without being hit? I know he was at one time. Virgil Hill dropped with a body shot. Beat B-Hop pretty much one handed, as he was injured... I can see we will have to agree to disagree on this one Lakewood, shit he was dodged most of the time, and thats why you dont see many top fighters in their prime on that list. They waited until they got old to collect that check for that ass whoopin ;)
Oh yeah,, recall what happened to montel "Ice" griffin after the DQ right? KNOCKED the F@@K OUT!
