Well is has now come to our attention in Australia that we and a man that I call Mr M has bred the original stafford for 30 years with the original hieght of a dog 19-20 inch Old English Stafford. These dogs are bred for their purpose but they do not participate in those games.... They have the correct angulation, length in upper arm, giving more leverage and with the hieght more wind to acquire more oxygen to last longer-stamina. These dogs are balanced and are a testiment to Mr M for his program and knowledge of the breed. Would an original staffrod have any less ability than the smaller stafford bred today.... The original standard was the 19-20 inch dogs then was changed for reasons not to benefit the breed but discriminate....bring back the original Staffrord, because we are.....

    Good luck with your dogs,
The original standard (1935) required both dogs and bitches to be between 16 & 18 inches at the withers not 20 inches, if I am wrong I will stand corrected.

Could you post some pics of your dogs, would love to see them?

can anyone explain to me why the original standard was changed please.

It was thought that the new height and weight would create an all round better balanced dog, something that a lot of people will totally disagree with. The height and weight debate will continue
    to rage forever.
Again would love to see some pis though.

This is my bitch at 9 months...she is now 15 months @ 17.5 inches and 20 kilos....she should finish at 19 inches when she has full muscle growth. The standard we have for hieght in Oz in 14-16 inches..unfortunately..but I know which I would prefer....

Iv got a male dog, he's roughly 18.5 inches and at 46lbs weight lean. Not overly muscular just athletic, can't wait til he's two to see him fully matured, nothing worse than short barrel shaped show rubbish, wud love to see some old school bred dogs now. A glimpse of hope for them maybe lol

This is another prime example of the dogs that are being bred in Oz....He is 20 inches tall and weighs 25kilos....complete balance, structure and strenght and has all come about from Mr M gene pooling the right dogs...dogs are being exported all over the world....

what is ment by ORIGINAL TYPE OF STAFF...before the kc put a standard on them and f>cked the breed up ?

    Steven Pup

Sorry red barron....these dogs never came out of Cumhill little Mischief....he has not produced anything of substance yet even dogs that I owned with him as grand sire...these dogs are so well line bred and genetically bred, look at the product..

AW Daly..thats right mate the kc put a standard on colour and height for reasons we yet to fathem....if you look at pics of the old stafford they have height with structure and balance....we did not breed the dogs to be taller, it is what is genetically in them....and its not a handfull of taller staffs...there are approx. hundreds...
