There you go... you dont have to sell your yard just see if he throws after you test the dog tell your hands hurt. whats should be the base of any good breeding program? bulldogs not paper.

all that two breeding program stuff would be great

but most dont have the money to waste on extra dogs

and if you were one of these people would you then

man if its a good dog with no papers you could parlay the pups every way to sunday! and you dont have to commit to shit till you see what produces.

Sure i would beed him into my family, when you breed you should be breeding for yourself and not to get a pretty pedigree. the name of the game is to WIN. if he produces it's a plus for me. if not, it got culled and not repeated.

Thanks folks for all of your comments, and this post was not about GRCH 35 himself, I just said in that spirit, I know he didnt produce I talk to the owner and he told me all about that, but this was a question about a dog that has proven him/herself, and if you would bred the dog or add it to your program, My partner has a dog that is producing and hes what your looking for, he doesnt sell dogs but this dog is included in his program and he dosent have papers, only thing he does have an idea how the dog is bred so that helps a bit, yet in still he wasnt there so he dosent know completly

There is a big difference in having some general idea of how a dog is bred then not knowing at all how he is bred. The main thing is that you TRUST that person you got the dog from. I have bought dogs with out any papers from people that I TRUST....I dont know exactly how the dog is bred but have a general idea of what bloodlines they come down from for example lets say Jeep/Redboy and go even Further and say Tab but thats about it I dont know the exact dogs they are off of but have a close enough generalization of which lines they are from.

I dont see why you wouldnt, as long as I had the chain space to try it.
I would keep it seperate from my own program though.
I would try it with different lines and see what comes out, cull hard and see where you are then.

If you dont have the space then I sugest you try stud the dog out to people you know that are willing to take a chance on an above average dog that will also cull hard.
No point screwing up a yard full of dogs on an unknown quantity if you havnt got the space

  8. I got a dog from Bobby Hall around 1989 or so. Didn't care about papers, especially since I saw him go 2:20 OTC - lots of natural air, good mouth. Looked alot like those 1990's Kemmers dogs, all floppy eared, floppy gums. If you know those physical characteristics then you know what blood I am actually referring to.;)

You can say what you want about Bobby, but d*mn, that guy can pick a good one.

Very superior animal, Gr.Ch quality. Hell yes I would create a program, and be glad to have the opportunity.

Kinda the point I was making.......

  12. I'd take the chance and see what happens. You never know what moght pan out. The only thing I woudnt do was make a apart or my main breeding program. If you have enough room on your yard, try running two different programs. Breed him to your best bitch, then take him back to the best daughter off of that breeding. If you find fire in that breeding, then you know that he's good money, if not, @least it only too you two breeding generations to find out.

    Just my 2 cents.

  13. What bloodline would that be?

if i was to happen upon a dog like 35, and he was that good i wouldnt go so far as to say i would incorperate him into my program, but i can say i would have most definately bred him to the best bitch on my yard, then segragated those off spring from the rest. lets say i was lucky and got atleast one good one, maybe two, then i would proberly breed him to my next best bitch then inbreed on that depending on traits, but still keeping it seperate from my already established yard. if the out comes were very minamal, then id proberly go ahead and cull the lot and cut my losses. bulldogs will always cost you money, and if you are doing it right, it will cost you heaps lol..:p

  15. The one he is famous for!;) All typical physical traits of Bullyson. No other bloodline throws 'em like that all the time on a consistent basis.

Let me tell you a Fictional Story of the good dog nobody wanted. There was this 48lbs unpapered dog that had won 5 shows into good competition even beating 2 champions in his shows and none of his shows went pass the half an hour mark due to him having a very hard freakish mouth.....yet when the owner tried to sell him no reputable dogman would buy that dog but was later bought by a ameture newcomer who new nothing of the dogs past history yet he wanted to base his line on that dog and didnt care how the dog was bred as long as it was a really good dog ......he bred the balls off of that dog for the rest of the dogs life but litter after litter to no avail he did not produce any good offspring no matter what bitches he bred him too...after 8 years of wasting his time the newcomer finally asked a reputable dogman why that dog couldnt produce and why no one bought that dog since that dog was a good performer...... and the dog man replied he said well we all new that the father of the dam of that dog jumped the fence and bred to a Rottweiler thats why no one wanted the dog for breeding. LOL Moral of this fictional story is > Good dogs are where you find them but the papers do matter to a certain degree especially in breeding. Its hard enough to breed two papered dogs together and hopefully getting good pups but too breed a dog of unknown origin is even a greater gamble or risk which can set you back even further but if you have the Time,Money and Space to do it I say its up to you if you wanna take that chance if you feel its worth the risks.

  18. I agree 100%. If you are going to invest all the time, energy, and money, why gamble? Look at the parents, grandparents, great-grandparents. Then spend some time learning about genetics! A quick lesson will save you a bundle of cash.
