    Hi All,

I am a new member and need help/advise. My 2yr old pitbull had 13 puppies 9 days ago. She is a great mom to them;licking, cleaning, feeding, responding to cries etc. However this morning she started growling at one of them and I became concerned. I've never seen any aggressive behavior in her. A minute later she was licking and loving to them again. What do you think? Throughout the entire process she has been digging, scratching, looking for something. I know she wants to move them but I cant have the whelp box anywhere else. It is in the house, not outside.Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

sounds like that one meerly did something she was not happy with and she simply reprimanded~let that pup know, about her displeasure. nothing to worry about, imo, especially if things went "back to normal" right afterwards.

and many times a mom will move babies due to feeling vulnerable for whatever reason. anyway to hide/shield the box more, to promote a greater sense of privacy/protection for her and the pups?

good luck with mom and babies, and welcome.
