New Year puppies

    My bitch had puppies this morning. First litter in over 5 years. She had a total of 9 but must of sat on 2.I'll get some pics later.Been a busy morning so far.

    Congrats! Sounds like it's been awhile. I had a bitch that even on her second litter she kept sitting on pups. I'd keep watching her on that because my bitch did it over and over again until I figured something out to stop her. If you built your own whelping box, try adding a lip a few inches from the bottom. Like a 2X4 screwed on the inside all the way around.

    Yeah I built my own whelping box and put puppy rails in. What she did was she crawled under a sofa I had out in the Barn and thats were she had her puppies early this morning.I was amazed she could even make it under there.

    Congratulations!! :thewave:

    Mine insisted on having her first pup (it was her first litter) on my lap LOL! Then I put the pup in the whelping box and she had the rest there.

    reminds me of a bitch dog i had she slept in the bed with me and the ole lady every night on top of her legs she went into labor while we were asleep and jumped on the bed and had the first pup right in between the wifes legs


    and grats on the pup's there PA hope they all turn out to be good ones
