I have a wonderful female pit whom is now 5 months old and I have a couple questions to ask about her. Let me start off saying that I have been very responsible and have been very aggressive in training her. She has learned how to sit, up, she's potty trained.... my first question is that I work with the mentally disabled population. When she was smaller I would take her into work with me to socialize her and she does great around them. She has never been aggressive towards anyone and when she is at work with me she is on a leash at all times. One day one of the men came up to her with his fist raised in the air shaking it and talking loudly. He was excited to see her. Not once did my dog move towards him or be aggressive. She sat at my side not even phased. I calmed him down and she wanted to lick him and get patted. I feel that she needs to be socializing with all humans adult and children alike, others think that she might eventually turn on someone doing this. I kind of think if she was going to attack she would have then and there. My neighbor's children waller all over her and she doesn't get annoyed, she's happy and loving all over them. I guess my question is am I doing right by socializing her like this? Another question is both my dogs have their own blankets which they will carry all over the house with them...even to bed. My 3 year old, he sucks on his and always has. Like a baby sucking their thumb. Well now my 5 month old has picked up on this and she's doing it. Does anyone know why they would be doing this? My last question is my 5 month old needs her nails clipped. It is impossible, even with two people.... any suggestions?

If the nails are too long you aint pounding enough pavement, no need to run, just a daily walk will sort them out, keep socializing as you are, they need to see all types of situations at this stage, dont be surprised though if the dog rips somebody a new asshole when full grown for acting aggressive towards you though, some can be very protective of there owners when grown

Take her everywhere you can. You can never socialize them enough. This is off topic but just this past weekend, I went into Auto zone with my buddy and there was a lady making a fuss because I had a Pit in the store. The lady said to the clerk, "You guys allow Pit Bulls in the store"? The clerk goes, "Hell yeah! I have three". People are stupid.
