I dont know wether to thank you or what but I feel the same way

and the reason I say to stop telling the public these dogs are great for kis is because of the high rates of dogs that are being put but there has been no culling happening in
at least 50 percent of the breeding programs

so just like a peddeler sells you a good dog he can also sell you a bad dog
and the same goes for a true reputable breeder

Perhaps those kids have/had more understanding and knowledge about the dogs and how to behave around them than the average dog owners kids have? or than some kids have? And not the same disaster mediawise if bitten by grandpas dog as if of a pup bought of an unknown peddler? And perhaps those dogs not was of the more unsuitable and rough kind?
Is that a possibility? No?
Or are some here saying every pitbull terrier and what people call "pitbull" in the world are perfect nannydogs to buy for familys with small children?
Nothing is allowed to happen with these dogs involved!!!


It´s not in any way relevant which dogmans grandchildren had pitbulls or if this individual dog are like this or kid are like this and so on. It is totally irrelevant and uninteresting.
What is relevant is that if you had experience of enough physically hard dogs you should know that it would be not only unwise, but completely idiotic to leave a dog like that unsupervised with a kid. If you don´t know that it could be because you have not yet met such a dog. It is a big responsibility to propagate for a thing that you can´t see the consequences of. I have seen dogs like that. I have known dogs of the breed that only an idiot would leave alone unsupervised with children, dogs that I would never recommend even as housedogs.

I´m tired of all buy a pit pup propaganda. The only reason for a person to have a pitbull terrier is if that person has a very special interest of some kind for the breed. If not there are so many other breeds, not threaten to their existence.
With that not said anyone here are propagating to sell pups. On the other hand I´m sure many members here, as well as anywhere else, are producing pitbull puppies with no real reason other than to sell them, which should be a big no no under the circumstances for the breed.

I've had AMAZING experiences with the breed and my kids. I've also had a few dogs here that were NOT good with kids, although that was definitely the exception rather than the rule. That being said, the REASON I've had so many dogs succeed in my home with my kids is because my kids have VERY strict rules to follow when it comes to the dogs. From day one, all their interactions are orchestrated, and if I can't attend to them, I separate. It's that simple. My kids are VERY dog savvy, but they are still kids and can do stupid things sometimes. My dogs display very rock solid temperment with the kids, but you don't know a dog is going to bite, until they do, so I don't take it for granted that they are ''good with kids'' just because they are ''pit bulls''. . My kids have seen over 200 dogs pass through our doors, and neither of them have ever been biten, and I plan on keeping it that way by responsible management as well as culling those that display inappropriate temperment for my household dispite proper handling.

I have never had a dog that would bite a kid, however i have had some that were terrified by the presence of my kids. My brothers first dog had excellent blood in his ped, but he wasn't bred right and the gene pool looked like the breeder wanted every good dog available in his ped. Good blood but an unstable dog that was bred by a peddler that wouldn't cull one if it bit him. The end result= a nephew with 50 stitches in his face courtesy of a dog who's grandparents would've never been bred on my yard. Game dog owners need to be more responsible and do the right thing even when it hurts the pockets....
And by the way that dog that bit my nephew, my brother let him run free... Seriously, I found him tied up next to a kids play house a couple of blocks over, and he has since been put to sleep. My brother should have never had this dog in the first place or any other APBT.
