new born pup constant pain

puppy is 8 days old , Sunday i notice he was weak , would not suckle , pooped mucus like clear weird smelling , so i went to work got some calorie gel and some pedia lyte , tried some anti diarrhea liquid , seems to just be in pain , gave the diarrhea to the mom now , but i think she handles it better then a newborn , gave it to his one other brother , im thinking it could be from switching the moms milk replacer because we could not find the normal one i had been using the entire time and the next day all these symptoms erupted , i was googleing all the major bacterial infections , im sure it is a bacterial infection , but there hasn't been any blood yet , just poops watery stuff , no much vomiting outside me force feeding him and probably not doing a great job , this is first time i have dealt with this issue , usually sick pups just fade or are born still , please share any thoughts

 

A trip to the vet is your best chance of that pups survival.

could be a number of things.you will be able to nurse this pup but you will need a vet(this will cost a lot uselly)to give the pup a injetion.im not sure what the injection is but without it the pups chances are slim.
this happend to me a few years back.two pups seemed ill but this was at six weeks.i was gonna cull em to be honest but some woman took one and a man the other.both dogs still around and that was about five years ago.there still around coz the people i gave em to spent grands at the vet.money i never had at the time-hence why i was gonna cull em.
i never got to the bottom of it but i was told it was somthing to do with bacteria..
dont give it nothing watsoever,get it to a vet or put it out of its misery.
there yer two options im afraid.
other option is leave it and see if it pirks up.this option seems crule to me,so its option one or two.

And belive me im not someone who ever recomends a vet.but this is beyond the layman.

 

im not new to pups and i have had a few pass away after birth , just never had one sick like this , the vet is always a waste of time and money , i really despise going , if its not major surgery then i can do it , just wondering if anyone has had pups get sick like this , pissing out their butts , i have had plenty of dogs get diarrhea its not serious i guess in the older dogs , the pup is 8 days old and acting so strange , he took steps and walked , but then lays and cries , he cries for hours , now he is vomiting all the liquids i give him now , so now i need fluids under the skin , if i can even get a vet appointment i guess i will just pay their ridiculous fee to talk to salesperson and get the meds, spend the cash and the pup will probably pass away in a week like they all do , i swear its always the same looking pup that passes away every time and the eyes open a bit too soon wich i think is a bad thing because it can let in bacteria , i know i can just start the weaker one on antibiotics and fluids , they seems to have decent energy , i though the small one would fade and pass but he is not looking like that , but he is just sick , even thought i saw him pass a few solid poops but last 8 hours have been ruff he even has the energy to get right to the nipple but just seems to not know how to suckle anymore ?

 

i get you , but it has to be a bacterial infection or a reaction to the milk replace , everything was fine before then , for the most part !

 

right now im thinking amoxicillin , under skin fluids , and a pro-biotic will help this guy , he wants to live !

 

Im not sure what it is mate.bactiria seems likely...i fckn hate vets to.
pure theives vets are.thevies that make grands on misery.
the reason i said vet is that he can give it somthing to help it.
similare treatment to parvo i think.but im no vet so i cant be sure its the exact same treatment a pup would get with parvo?
as i said mate not a job for the layman.

I get what you are saying about vets...BUT, if you are not sure, please go to a vet. The dog is in constant pain and "guessing" what to give the pup is not helping. Some ailments can be fixed without a vet but geez, if your have to question if something is gonna work or not, while the dog is in pain, then it's time for a vet.

 

Im really not sure mate...but maybe google what a vet might do?..
maybe google will tell ya then you can get the stuff and do it your self.would be a hole lot cheaper then a vet.
get digging into google and even the search bar on this sight might shed some info..

Also mate if you are suspisios of vets,then try take it to a live stock vet.price will be both dear either way,but you might get more sence out of a live stock vet rather then a pet vet.

When you have a pup like this it is a cull as you don’t want to raise sickly dogs. Cut your losses and care for the healthy ones as that’s one thing you should be breeding for. I breed gamefowl and I don’t tolerate any that aren’t up to standard I cull hard and I rarely have a sick one. If you can’t cull then don’t breed.

vet gave him dewormer , 126 dollar dewormer wtf , i dont think its the major viral or bacterial infection because it would be bloody and nasty , he wants to live for sure he is fighting with ever cell to stay alive but if he passes it wont be the first time one faded away so im not going to be shocked , but i will give him a chance so he can grow up to be a great dog for someone

 

also the wormer is called pyrantel pamoate , idk if there is an OTC version , plz let me know if there is so i can just give it to the rest of the litter and moma !

 

you know google is not what is used to be , i tried duck duck go , but still didnt find any real info , just went to the vet its wasnt to expensive but still hate going !

this vet is retarded , i just called them and asked for fluids and they wont sell me some WTF type of vet cant sell some fluids and syringes !

 

they told me to try and get the puppy to eat , like wtf if i could get him to eat , then i wouldn't need fluids , i need the fluids to help boost him up , and the time i spent going to the vet weakened him to a whimper , he will still sip from the dropper but it usually just gets spit back out with in the hour , i swear the fluids are 8 bucks and syringes are like nothing , pennies to just get him hydrated , ill just keep droppering him until maybe i can get back to these morons tomorrow , these vets really dont know shit about raising pups , the meds they did give us is generic Fing dewormer , total amateur shit show !
