The best would be a raw diet. Do a search, there's plenty of info on it. :)

Raw is good but prob not for a beginner. IMO. I use Taste of the Wild high prairie. Its grain free and does great with my dog.

  4. aaight thanks but would a raw diet make my dog aggressive or wat

Owners make dogs aggresive, not what you feed them.

There's nothing wrong with a beginner using raw. No one is born knowing everything and we all had to start somewhere. Anyone can do it as long as the research is done.

Raw is not good for a person just beginning with these dogs.. Feed Canidae or Diamond Naturals if you can't afford Taste of Wild or maybe try Solid Gold Wolfcub

IMO if someone is just starting out with the breed the least he needs to worry about is if he is giving his pup a balanced diet. Theres so many good dry kibbles out there that is complete with everything his pup needs to grow and develop. Also a new apbt owner would need to focus on learning about his dog and the breed. And I think a beginner would b spending to much time making sure his raw diet was right rather than learning other more important things. Now if he has had pits for awhile and he decided to try raw feeding I feel that would be a wiser decision because he has spent plenty of time learning about them and how to care for them properly. But thats just my opinion.

i would try the local feed store and research a good high protein feed 27/18 or 26/18. canidae and taste of the wild are to costly to buy. i feed river bend hi protein it stick to my dogs well

Actually that is completely backwards thinking. This is when most of the rapid growing is done and is the most important time to be feeding a quality diet. Growing bones, joints, ligaments etc, need a premium diet.

There really arent many good kibbles out there and certainly none that can compare to a raw diet.

The research should have been done before buying the dog.

Feeding a raw diet is not rocket science and I cant think of anything more important than starting off a pup with an optimal diet.

Learning how to care for a dog properly, includes learning how to feed an optimal diet.

  19. thanks im try the raw diet here in a few mounths
