Any dogman can give me a lil advise on this. Thanks

  4. I didnt mean it like that, I mean thats nature's way of saying she isnt fit to be a mother. How many times has she been bred?

Man I know where you are coming from there with this bitch... I was just in your same boat a couple months ago, the best brood bitch I have ever had killed all by 2 of her pups, sucked for us that is for sure... when was the last time the gyp was bred before this litter? how did she act with the other litter? has she ever shown signs like this before? I really don't know that I can tell you to do anything, just next time, keep a close eye on her and if she acts as if she isn't going to raise them, either bottle raise them, or if you or anyone that you trust has a gyp that is raising pups, try to slide them in on her. I have done that before and it worked out good. We have a gyp that consistantly only has 2 pups, and when we had a gyp that wouldn't raise pups, we slid them in with the gyp with the 2 pups and she raised them up like they were her own, just an idea man... good luck in the future... and don't worry about the bashers, you know as well as I do, if you have been on this board for more than a day now, they will come out when you ask for help and the ignore the question at hand, just to talk out their "fourth point of contact" (airborne) and I really don't know why they do it, if it's to boost themselves, or make them feel better about themselves, I don't know, but I ignore them... later

OOOO OK LOL MY BAD. NA THIS IS HER 2ND TIME.HER FIRST LITTER I NOTICE SHE WAS NOT THE BEST OF MOMS LIKE SOME OF MY OTHER PITS BUT I WANTED TO BRED HER ONE MORE TIME AND SHES LUCK SHES HERE STILL.MAYBE NEXT TIME ILL JUST TAKE THE PUPS AWAY.

  7. The pups on this pics are still alive or? Ok females sometimes do that. No matter wich bred and its in some cases known by wolves. Why? Honestly I dont know what nature wispers them. But another thing is you shouldnt let your female alone if the pups are that fresh. Its a sensible time and you are very important as a helper and watcher.

NA THESES WHERE THE PUPS SHE KILLED.AND WHEN SHE KILLED THEM I WAS NOT HOME.I WAS A 1 1/2 HOUR AWAY BREEDING ONE OF MY MALES.I KNOW IF I WAS HOME THIS WOULD NOT OF HAPPEND CAUSE I WAS ON HER,WATCHING AND ECT..

Just ignore her. She doesn't know what she is talking about half the time anyways. When you bred her the first time was she a good mother? Its possible that there was something wrong with the pups you may not have known but its possible your girl did know.

  10. Wow you've lowered ourself to outright blatant lies because we disagreed in another forum....thats a quality people should look for when seeking advice. Funny that you seem to think you know a lot about me by a couple of pictures and one thread, right on old lady shall I percieve what threads you migth respond to and stay away from them? haha WOW show some respect to this person's thread instead of dragging your issues into it.

You have already stated she is not a good mom. Get a good bitch and breed her. No sense in sentencing puppies to death, over some pups that you could get elsewhere. Not uncommon to have that line so it seems a little risky to me.

I agree with JoeFeezy. looks like she was not meant to be bred.

  14. Ok sorry for the rude intrusion but how old is she?

That happens sometimes when a mama is too young to be bred or if they have some mental issues so maybe consider if she is worth breeding.
Also it is nto unheard of for a mom to kill pups if she feels she isnt secure in her whelping area, kinda like survial of the fit type thing.

  15. you mean like you just did instead of doing it in a PM? practice what you preach.

  16. This is not that abnormal, it doesn't mean that you should breed anymore or that that female should not be bred anymore, it should be a lesson learned with your female, and you should know what to do next time if you do decide to breed her. RIGHT?

Depends on the dog for sure and how bad you want that indaviduals particular blood. Next time you can remeber to pull them from her for the short time that your gonna be gone, or get you a searagit (sp?)momma. I cant say that a dog wont repeat this pattern some do some dont.... Good luck!

Got a ped on this dog?

Most every question you have asked, was answered in the first couple statements that bigcespits made, he said how many times the bitch has been bred, and the age. If you have no helpful input, why reply?

    Bigcespits,

Sometimes a bitch will kill and eat her pups when something is wrong with them, and sometimes a bitch can just get freaked out and kill the litter. I dont diss you for breeding her, nor for leaving for a short period of time. This is part of it, of course things can be avoided.
I would not be scared to breed her again if I felt like the breeding would produce some good ones. Main thing is to watch how she acts. She should have been giving signs that showed what was about to happen, unless something happened and she freaked out. Heck I have had bitches that would kill their pups if you messed with them the first week! I would do like was stated earlier, if bred again and the bitch went to acting wierd, pull the pups and either put with a seragant mother or bottle feed. I have a box for such a case with little partitions that I have heating pads in each one and towels so if necessary in the 1st week of life they will stay warm and cozy, and I will tube feed them at that point. Later I will bottle feed, but until the gag reflex kicks in, tube feeding is the best, IMO.

I am sorry for your loss, and I am sorry that you were jumped on. sux having something you are looking forward to and then they get there and BAM!

    2 people like this.
  19. Thanks Purplepig ....I was trying to get all of that out....got pissed when I read some of the replies on here.......Rep points to ya!

We had a female that was like as well.....It took us both staying up all night almost every night for a couple of weeks, until she was comfortable with her pups.
