I still sympathize with him it was his dog and I wouldn't wish anyone loosing their dog this way. Sometimes the hardest lessons in life are very painful ones. I truly hope that through this tragedy he learned something from it I am guessing he did. Again OP I am truly sorry for your loss.

I've biked with mine from time to time but always in either a graveyard or an industrial park and I dont hold the leash I attach it to the neck of the bike. Keeps your hands free to hold on and even though I do it areas I am unlikey to run into others, I stay paranoid of my surroundings at all times when doing so. Mills are safer and your less likely to take a spill or have an accident when doing.

I have a neighbor with a miniature pinscher dog is left outside all day no fence, never leashed, it comes in and out of my yard all the time. Because I don't have a fence at the moment my dogs are always leashed when I take them out to use the bathroom. I don't like how the neighbor thinks her dog is entitled to run all over my yard and bark at my dogs, piss and shit in my yard, but I have to make sure my dogs don't get her dog I know what I own and what would happen if I let them in the backyard unleashed even if her dog was standing in her driveway my dogs would bolt after it you gotta take the extra steps to make sure nothing will happen. Agk I am like you paranoid as hell of my surroundings I am always going out the back door looking out the garage door both ways to make sure the neighbors dog is no where in site before I take mine out on the leash to use the bathroom.

Oh it is lol at night she lets the little fucker inside but still If she is not going to be responsible for her dog I have to protect mine by any means I am not going to let my dogs kill her little dog even if it is a pain in the ass and trespassing where he doesn't belong all it takes is for my bulldog to kill her cute little dog and that's all she wrote so I put up with it for the sake of my dogs own well being.

This thread is getting alot a miles in.My dogs are old now so I jog or walk with them but I'm always looking for another tool to condition them.I think biking a dog is a really bad idea but when I have another younger dog I have a new idea in getting a couple extra miles in.OK,,,so buy a small enough BMX type of a bike maybe even a girls bike with no bar along side your knee's.The bike would be small enough so not only can you touch the ground with both feet but you can do it with ease. You can easily ditch the bike if you have to pull your dog in.I would use this also as a pulling tool but only in an area clear of distractions.
Yup I feel bad that you lost your dog this way,,,,,people suck..!

My neighbor and I have had no problem other than the fact I told him his dogs give the mail man a hard time and he need to keep them in a cage but I have been biking with my dogs for quite some time and to be honest this is the first time one of my dogs has ever been in his yard and he did not have to shot my dog that was just being hateful not to mention I was about ten feet away when he shot my dog an that could have been me but the police said it was not against the law and I have made no complaints to county about his dogs roaming free other than to my neighbor himself so it not much i can do in court because theirs nothing on file

Here my 2 cents. U f*** up no and if or buts. But if his shitted ass mutts are running on my yard. I am putting two bullets in them to make a point. If they chase me on the road first time I will make complaint to the cops if they don't fix the problem. Next time they are getting a bullet. And I I am saying I feared mine and my family safely
    Its eye for an eye

Take your video with your phone then upload it to youtube or photobucket or any other media storage site then copy the url code and paste it in the reply box. Its real easy if you have an android type phone or iphone.

It may not be a highly populated area but it was highly populated enough you couldn't avoid an encounter with this guy's dog. I hate that your dog got shot,I really do, but legally the guy was justified in shooting your dog being it was on his property attacking his dog. It'll make me sound bad but if I had a non APBT breed and a APBT or any breed really that was capable of killing my dog came on my property and attacked it I would have shot as well. But he should have had his dogs contained, with that being said you did lose control of your dog and unfortunately it cost him his life. It seems as if you knew you would probably encounter the neighbors dogs,so you should have taken extra care to not lose control of the dog.Sorry but the shooting,at least here where I live, would of been legally justified.

I've had kennel accidents between two gamebred apbt that was full on war.Not to brag but I've reached in hands open with the force of a good solid blow and grabbed the back of both dogs neck push them together real hard untill they let go for a better hold and pulled them a part all from a standing position and walked down the driveway with both dogs hanging in my hands still trying to get at each other.I wanted to get the situation away from the public eyes as my neighbor watched the whole act in awe and fear lol.ANYWAYS what I'm trying to say if RELL was only 10' away he would have been able to get his dog off and out of there,,,he might have been bit by the other dog but atleast he would have his dog.John fricken wayne was an egomaniac to shoot RELLS dog if RELL was ONLY 10' away.I'm sure RELL was screaming for his dog to stop so I'm sure john fricken wayne new he olny had 2 seconds to KILL RELLS dog as rell would have been right in there.
RELL this has been a tuff thread for you to read,,,,I would try to stay calm for now,,,,sort this all out,,,and try to move on with your life. Some of the advice on this thread is from PC tough guys that will land you in jail and in the news papers.Take some time do lots of homework and when your ready spend the money and get your self a really nice dog.
RELL gets the point by now we don't have to keep repeating the bad news anymore lets figure out better ways to help now.
