    hi!

I have sat and watched my dog when he was in better shape and have always thought that something was missing, I think it's the muscles around the ribs are missing. so to my question, how do I train the muscles around the ribs? is there anything a dog needs to have genetically? He is after all a show-bred dog.

please come with tips on how to train to get the muscles around the ribs! if you want to take it through the PM, it is also possible.

    Sorry for my bad English.

Conformation is really genetics. you can only put so much work into the dog to get it to look the way you want aesthetically, but really when it comes down to it it either has it or it doesn't. That was not intending to rude in any way. Some dogs just have a better "so called" conformation look that has those muscles around the ribs like the way your asking. alot has to do w/ the color of the dog too. brindle's and black's are hard to see. the best color i think for visible muscle are the lighter buckskin dogs. then too it may be a bit overweight too. there are many things that you could look at including working him/her.

  3. 50 sit ups a day should do it lol!

There are no major muscles on the ribs, just a covering of skin, so my guess is your dog still has a bit of fat on him. To get mine in decent shape I do 5 miles walk or 10 at a good trot with the bike + 30 mins of chasing a ball every day for 5/6 weeks + 2/3 springpole sessions a week.

The walk is for stripping weight.
    Chasing a ball/sprints build muscle
Springpole works the back muscles and hams (make sure u keep the hind legs on the ground)

The bike/sprints work the lungs/fitness to varying degrees.

I will post a pic or two later of my results, can't do it off the phone

I do not have great demands on how his body would look like because he is the show-bred, so I know we have limitations. But given that this is the first dog I conditioning, so I want to know if I missed something.
And as you say then he is black brindle. Post a picture in this post.

That he has little fat left can be very possible that I hold him in that form approximately 6 months, so it's not a "keep" what I do. but we are training to compete in the WP which last about 6 months.

Springpole, I thought maybe with weight collars, I am completely wrong? and perhaps even use it for regular walks.

Doesnt matter if there show bred or anythin else, my fella is a kc staff and is in good shape. Its all down to the right food and exercise. I dont consider what I outlined to be a keep, its just enough to keep him how I like him.
Wouldnt be bothered with weighted collars if weightpul is what you want to do, id imagine having him run up hills would be more beneficial, as in a ball and a sand dune

tug of war, fast him one day of the week, flirt pole or laser and put the chain on him when it's out in the yard. once i did this all my dogs got the rib muscle.

  9. Fast him one day a week? Fucking retarded I tell ya. When a dog is working to get in shape they need more food. Not less. Fucking idiots trying to condition a dog is funny and sad all at the same time.

  11. No you don't retard. Here we go again nothing. You don't know shit from shineola about conditioning a dog........period! Oh and I promise you that you will NEVER condition a dog better than me LOL. Skinny doesn't equal conditioned you dumbass.

you condition your dogs to show them. put that twinkle in your eye...pick me. i condition my dogs to hunt with them.

  13. You are a turd and your dogs are turds. You've never hunted a dog in your life you fucking idiot.

Oh and btw you dumbass fasting a dog one day and feeding it more the next day only equals the dog shitting more. Seriously you make a fucking idiot out of yourself every time you post. You were a joke on Pit Bull Chat with the fur mommies and thought you would come here and act like you know something. Let me clue you in......you're even a bigger retard here LOLOLOL

i saw you called that blue dog a "turd" on the visual differences between ukc, akc, and adba.......but truthfully you are breeding red blue pitbulls. that dog looked better than yours imho.

  16. LOL You're stopping because you're making a fucking moron out of yourself and now you're realizing it and have nothing to say.

Yeah moron I posted some of my dogs in the choc-red. Go look at some good looking dogs if you want to see them hahahaha Seriously dude if you would just try and learn instead of being a fake ass poser pretender you'd get a lot farther. Instead you sign up on forum after forum exposing yourself for the dipshit you are.

Why not go put the muzzle on your dog and run it some more like you said you did on pit bull chat LOL. You know, cuz it builds more stamina LOL. If you're too damn dumb to know that's the only way a dog can release heat (besides through their pads.....yeah I know you didn't know that either) and you want to claim you can condition a dog better than me, all I can do in the end is LOL @ your stupidity and feel sorry for your mutts.

  17. LOL Yeah that blue dog is a straight up fucking turd!! I'm breeding red blue "pitbulls"?? LOL I have never owned a blue dog in my life shit for brains. You don't know jack about my dogs hahaha. Oh and pitbull (as you put it) is 2 words simpleton. Pit Bull, as in American Pit Bull Terrier, you know....the breed you DON'T own lol.

my dogs injured too many dogs so as a responsible owner who didn't own a mill that was the best thing to do. the muzzle is a string muzzle. it helped them to build stamina and get that extra push when i took the muzzle off, we road at night, never in the daytime. why am i explaining this? i never claimed to be an expert/poser on dogs, i'm here to learn....you're hear to bash. i have an nfl friend who lives in pennsylvania with land that lets us hunt on it. i love reading up on various bloodlines and finding out new information on things i didn't know.
