Morning post workout drink help

Discussion in 'Dog Discussion' started by Question Mark Kennels, May 27, 2020.

  1. So I train my boy twice a day as I work and have family commitments. I walk him in the morning and do workouts in the afternoon.

Does anyone know a good morning post workout energy drink so I know he's empty in the afternoon when I run him through his workout?

I've been feeding half his feed in morning and night but don't wanna run the risk of damaging his kidneys, thank you.

  2. let me post something that might be controversial
various studies have shown a dog is empty after 72 hours ( thats the minimum)
so reverse your thinking to the following , just dont work your dog on a full stomach meaning leave him at least 3 to 5 hours with only fluids

now there some studies which actually shows feeding a dog 3 to 4 times a day would be beneficial
now i must emphasize they were not peer reviewed ( I hope u understand what I mean ) and it revered to iditarod

I must admit I was heavy into feeding and shit but since I am out I didn't look further into it
things might have changed in the last 4 to 5 years
