    YAZOO CITY, MS (WMC-TV) - A Jackson, Mississippi dog breeder was shot to death after a dog fight Friday night.

    Police said 43-year-old Earl Riptoe was shot around 11:00 p.m. Friday after a dog fight in rural Yazoo County, Mississippi.

    Police did not say how many times Riptoe was shot or where he was attacked.

    While responding to a shooting call, deputies forced a driver to pull over in Benton, Mississippi and found Riptoe dead in the back seat.

    The victim's sister, Sonja Riptoe, claimed he never used dogs for fighting, but did attend dog fights in Yazoo County.

    "He thought he could make a wager, a quick wager. Make some money or something," she said. "Maybe the people that go to those types of events are hardened by them to the point where they don't really consider human life as much as they would an animal's life."

    A felony cruelty bill is being introduced to Mississippi lawmakers that would create tougher penalties for people who harm cats and dogs.

    That makes things look bad for the dogs here in MISSISSIPPI just the other day a guy was killed by a dog in Ponotoc county and know this senseless murder.

    Very sad but what is really sad is the out come was to introduce stiffer animal crulety laws here is a thought how about stiffer anti crulety laws for people who take another human life Capital Punishment would be a good start! Someones Momma is crying tonight and our government is worried more about inflicting laws to protect a dog or cat! Someway somehow somebody got it twisted!

    NOOG(EARL RIPTOE)was alright he offered to breed his Dynomite and Cherry male to my heavy bred Elnegro female a while back.He was well known hear in Jackson.

    I dont think they are going to bann the breed just because people are stupid its like banning large trucks because they can kill a person if the driver is bad.

    Eventualy there will be a ban. Where I live in Fort Smith Arkansas the have a bill before the city council that will require all pit bull owners to have their dog spayed or nuetured. Also the law will read if the dog must be kept teathered down for more than an hour a day it must be put down

    That is absolutely insane.....the ARA Nutjobs just don't quit, do they? Sounds like the mantra "I would rather see a dog DEAD than on the end of a chain"........but they are out to "save" the dogs, right? Sad thing is the local lawmakers take their word as gospel and most of them don't even OWN a dog.

    Noog was a good dude. I hate to say this, but everyone that was there saw it coming,and everyone that heard the real story of wat happened would say the same thing. If the people around Noog would have just loaded Noog up in da car and took him back to Jackson before the situation ecsalated, none of this would have happened.

    Im sorry what happen to that guy,im really sorry about the laws here in Ms about the dogs,people talking about how cruel dogfighters are but they love to see when Mike Tyson knock some guy head off,i dont have any thing to do with dogfighting but it goes hand to hand both sport are bloody what the different in both sport i think it stupid to punish some guy for fighting an animal.
