I have been corresponding with Dawn from CHAKO and they are planning a walk and meet the breed event for Sunday June 13th, which is the day before the hearing. They are also planning on handing out flyers to Auburn residents in hopes to try and spread the word. Here is the email that I received about the event. Feel free to repost on other boards and email to all your dog friends. We need all the support we can get!

FYI: I am posting a meetup in Auburn on Chako's event/meetup calendar for June 13th, Sunday - the day before the city council meeting. We can do a "Meet the Breed" walk and flyering campaign to spread the word about the next evening's city council meeting. Our flyers should be ready this morning. We may even get the Auburn Journal out to cover the story since it will be timely, and that will help people to realize their is a city council meeting Monday. Only pre-approved dogs will be allowed. We're encouraging folks with titled dogs to attend, or dogs that do work such as therapy work, service work, search and rescue, etc.

That is the calendar link for the Auburn walk - location to be determined. I thougth we should pow wow about where to start, how to organize the activity, etc. I think we should have both a walk portion of it (parade style) and a stationary "meet the breed" section. We can hand out tons of flyers along the way so that people know the city council meeting is happening the following day - and we can then even send people off at the end to go to different areas of Auburn (parks, etc.) to continue to hand out flyers. I can send out a press release to the Auburn Journal so that hopefully we get some coverage in Sunday or Monday's paper -- in time for folks to further find out about the city council meeting.

I only hope that we get more people at the city council meeting that oppose the ordinance.

lets hope this makes a lasting impression on city council, i have a friend out there with his share of bulldogs. it would be a shame to see anything bad happen to that family.

If you know anyone that lives in the city of Auburn, please urge them to come out to the hearing on Monday June 14th!!!

What is even more ridiculous is that Auburn is trying to throw in a two dog limit on EVERYONE. Those people who are screaming "Ban the Pit Bulls!" are setting themselves up to get royally fucked as well.

I'm out of town on the 13th otherwise I would be there.

The council members did agree that the proposed 2 dog limit is ridiculous and they suggested changing it to 4 dogs in the city limits and possibly more in the rural areas of Auburn. A 2 dog limit is total BS!
