dam right Floyd came in over weight, he did the right thing, u got guys like pacman and Marquez who want to move up in weight and win belts and call themselves welter weight champs but want to fight at catch weights?? What kind of shit is that, just like manny made cotto draw himself to 145 which was dumb on cottos part cuz we all no he walks around at 160 so he was a dumb ass for doing that and he deserved to get his ass wooped and the same with Oscar he was completley dehydrated when he faught pacman. And Floyd aslo proved alot of people wrong when they said he was in debt and was just fighting for money, if that was the case he would have came in at 144, but he didn't and took the fine instead. Plus even if Floyd faught him at 144 the outcome would be the same, ass wooping, and for u to say pacman would knock Floyd out shows me you know nothing about boxing, if he took shanes best punches, pacman has no chance because me and u both know pacman dosent even come close to punching as hard as mosley does and don't u sit there and lie and say he does

but also if you think floyd is just going to KO pacquiao boy your making it sound like the man doesn't know how to box :rolleyes: and if he truly didn't how is it that he has made it this far...and I have watched all his fights I may not be an expert on boxing but you couldn't fool me that manny is not a great boxer I could care less after what my eyes have witnessed time after time after time, cannot wait if this fight proceeds.

Punching power is debatable. One thing that is for sure is Manny throws punches from unorthodoxed angles and short punches that the opponent doesn't see. With your boxing wisdom, you should know short punches you dont see knock you off your feet. Plus you cant defend what you don't see. I just think that:

You are correct, I know that we are talking about boxing so I could care less about the person he is unless it plays a roll with his boxing abilities. You have to literally be blind to not determine why pacquiao is a great boxer who is capable to take on mayweather do not approach this as an automatic defeat, as ATEXAN described here, you can't defeat what you don't see and pacquiao will school you in that sense if boxing was only about punching power pacquiao wouldn't be where he is at today in the boxing world and that man has taken enough punches just as well.

Very good, but he has not proven himself to be great and will not achieve this status until he beats the best boxer of his era... Floyd Mayweather Jr.

For all the skeptics that criticise Floyds opponents, Manny has had a similiar schedule. The difference is, Manny has 3 losses, has been knocked out and rattled along with 2 draws while Floyd has never even been knocked down. This is what seperates them...

If manny has a hard time with counter punchers such as marquez, what kind of success do you expect against floyd? We all seen how floyd embarassed marquez.

 

Technical skill set wise, Manny of early 2008 is not the same as the Manny of today. You can clearly see his science honing out in the Diaz fight with his in and out foot work and switching up his lead hand. Id love to see him against Marquez now and I think he will pick him apart.

 

manny is a workhorse with one rhythm, while floyd has learned to time others rhythm and change theirs to his. that's how he is able to counter punch the fighter so well without having to move out of the "pocket." He counters with the right hand less than a quarter of a second after his opponents punch has been thrown. mosley had the speed but could not change his rhythm enough times in the fight to keep floyd on the defensive.
imagine the punches like drum beats. manny and mosley have a monotone rap to it. floyd's is bursts, lulls, and flurries, combined with pauses set up for defensive rests and parries. that is mainly due to his "silly looking" pad exercise with his uncle and father. many think it looks silly but it actually helps the fighter to program the muscles to relax while throwing and defending punches and also changing the rhythm of the punches while in mid combination. imagine playing tug with your dog while using the other hand and trying to grab his legs or chest and having him dodge you while positioning his body to still keep the hold on the rope. he's learning defense while still in the hold in a controlled and calm environment which will also enable him to stay in the game longer.
That is the reason why floyd picks up later in his fights while his opponent seems to let off in the later rounds. he peppers them with counters and starts establishing an offense while they get gunshy after getting punished for their go-to punches and combinations. it's also a myth that floyd runs in the ring, he stays in the pocket in the fights i've seen. manny is a good fighter but he is part of a two man team. he is the boxer while roach is the brains. without roach he is not top level and without him, roach would be another average trainer. floyd is the brains and boxer as a one man team with his team only getting him physically fit for his fights and developing a pre-game plan. compared like this, who is the better fighter? and which dog would you keep? i'd keep the ace.

And do you think Pacman's team doesn't know what Mayweather is capable of? I don't think Mayweather is gonna kill Pacman. We all know boxing and We watched fights.
