Mayweather might have weighed in heavier but I don't it would've mattered. Floyd dominated just as I thought he would. He's too fast, defense is superb and just way too powerful for Marquez to deal with. This man can box in his sleep, idk if we'll see a fighter that can take him out. Someone always comes out with the woodworks with a supposed champ to take down the great(hatton anyone?) but sometimes you have a fighter that just has everything and the cream rises to the top.

I dont think Marquez was using and excuse, those FREAKING translators suck and dont say things exactly how fighter expressed them. The guy (translator) is an idiot. I speak fluent spanish and Marquez said in that interview and i QUOTE "he did the best he could, and admited Mayweather was a good fighter" Never did he mention anything about weight. nor he made excuses.

...Uh...I think there was more than 1 interview....
..ok..he clear;ly stated he does not want to make excuses....but

“He surprised me with the first knockdown,” Marquez said. “He hurt me in that round, but not any other time. I don’t want to make any excuses, but the weight was the problem. He’s too fast.”

I beg to differ, I think Pacquiao will be a great match for mayweather, whichever way it goes, its the one I would like to see the most. Pacman is no walkover. that boy got the fire!!

As far as I can see, Pacman is the only one May really has left to prove as far as current fighters go, I hope He desnt side step Him.;)

  19. I am not sure Pacquiao will ever fight Mayweather. There is a large weight difference. Pacquiao barely makes reaches the 140 limit. Manny's fight against Cotto is at a catchweight of 145 (after Cotto refused a 143 requested by Pacquiao's fight). From what I am reading, Cotto is unlikely to make 145 (same as Floyd was unable to reach 144 as per their contract and had to pay Marquez for every pound over).

Will Mayweather ever fight Pacquiao? That will depend on how Manny does against the much bigger fighter in Cotto. Will Manny's punches still sting like a bee's and feet move like a butterfly? Or will Cotto show him size does matter?

Cotto vs Pacquiao should certainly provide fireworks.;)

Seeing the way this fight went with Mayweather being bigger, stronger, and faster... I dont think Pac will take a fight with Floyd unless it's at least a 50/50 split or maybe even 55/45 in favor of Pac taking that he beats Cotto. Mayweather has dodged a few greats in his class(Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, Paul Williams) and for Pac to step up against a rough and rugged Cotto will be a great test. If Pac can pull it off against Cotto than I think IMO only that Pac will only take a fight with Mayweather if he gets a bigger purse. And knowing Mayweather... he aint going for that. So I think Pac/Mayweather is still a long shot! What I think should happen is Mayweather should stop ducking and dodging(like he does in all his fights and hits with a 1-2 counter combo and then gets the hell out of there cause he's so got damn elusive) and step up and fight Mosley or Paul Williams. That would be a more evenly matched fight!
