Looking for a mentor, can anyone help me out?

Discussion in 'Training & Behavior' started by The Lionheart, Jan 3, 2017.

  1. In my intro thread, bamaman suggested I find a mentor. At the time, I wasn't really sure what he meant by that. I think I do now. It seems like most dogmen/women who work with game dogs in some form or another were taught closely by mentors. I've find this to be consistent in every forum, blog, etc. I've looked at. So, I'm looking for game-dog breeders/trainers who are happy to take on newbies.

Does anyone know someone I could contact in Massachusetts? New England? Maybe even someone reading this?

Or maybe someone could show me a resource for finding this sort of mentor?

    Cheers.

Find someone to buy your dogs. Get out before you end up in a meeting, "Hi, I'm so and so, I'm a bulldog addict".

When the bug bites it is worse than crack.

Go to some shows. Meet some people. Don't talk stupid and burn the bridges before they are built.
