Actually it's quite difficult, on me anyways, to not be able to attend. I wish like hell I could campaign non stop all over North America for the sake of our dogs. I do what I can from where I am, 10 hours north of the American border. I write letters and e-mails to whoever I can. My MP is probably quite sick of me at this point in time. LOL

I also go to all news reports about our dogs on the internet and on those that have a comments section, watch me work LOL. I've been insulted, my country has been insulted, and, of course, my dogs have been insulted, yet I stay the course and educate as best I can.

Be aware that, even though I am not there in body, my heart is with you guys every time you do what you do. Know that I appreciate your efforts, and I respect you for doing what I can't from here. Every battle won brings me hope for Ontario.

Hey, I live on the front lines as far as BSL goes, and I will NOT lose hope. We will overcome the prejudice and hate, we will educate the ignorant, and my dogs will one day be regarded as just dogs. I have hope still.

So, slow down for a sec, take a deep breath, and try not to get down on the people here. Not all are able, and dissing on those that are is in no way going to help your cause. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.:)

And for those that can and haven't.....do your part before the government does you.....every letter, every call, every changed mind makes a difference.

Oh I'm not down on or dissing anyone here, just frustrated like everyone else with the situation. And I want people like Gapits who spent hours of her time to be appreciated, so thanks for saying that you do. :)

I agree with the statements made here about this crappy law. But even with all these great civil rights arguments, it's really difficult to stand up publicly against laws like this one without people immediately assuming that you are pro-dogfighting and therefore spawn of satan and then they won't listen to anything else you say (oh and they might also send animal control out to your house to take a look around - it has happened!!) We sure tried though, but all we got is some protections added to the bill. Not a victory or a compromise, just the best that we were able to accomplish.

Those links I posted before are outdated since SB16 has already passed in the senate. The only thing now is that it might get shot down in favor of this other, similar bill (HB301). All the info on this bill and who to write to is here: http://www.legis.state.ga.us/legis/2007_08/sum/hb301.htm.

  3. My sentiments exactly, that happened here, the little boy thing i mean, thats where i live in brunswick. And it was scary! Why are they so tied up with being worried about dogs when they need to be worried about what happened to this boy and fight for sex offenders living so close to school districts! They don't enforce that!
