Well breaking even all you can ask for Lakewood.....Well u were right it was one from the weeds that won it art. lol

Thing I never like is it seems more and more, they folks pull their horses and put fresh ones in for the next races. I dunno if that was common back in the day, when did this start to be common practice? I mean I see what they are getting at, throw a fresh horse in on the tired derby runners and get a pot of gold. But to me I (obviously your derby runner was thought to be your best horse) I would wanna see the horses go all 3 rounds, best versus best. I recall the few Preakness's I attended, once or twice it was a derby looser that played spoiler.

On to the Preakness. Like horses that get caught in the derby to rebound at the shorter distance ala Shackelford last year. But, cannot rule out the Derby winner if he is forwardly placed. In the shorter field at the Preakness, it seems like he will be there. Also, when you have horses that couldn't make the Derby, they are always balls to the wall to the lead. Will wait for the postions and the field before speculating any further.

Man it could go either way...A fast one out the gate like Bode, the shorter distance he wouldn't be caught, or can u turn I'll Have Another loose sooner and blow by the field? It will be real interesting.

 

Looking forward to the lines and post positions this week. Hope we can all make a little cash at the Preakness this year.

Alright Lakewood what are you thinking? I am right now gonna go with Bode, Optimizer, Creative Cause, followed by I'll Have Another.....This may change before post. LOL....

 

Here is what I'm thinking. Bodemister will be way over bet and will run third or fourth. I think I'll have another, Creative Cause and Went the Day well will be in the mix. I bet Creative Cause and Went the day well over bodi and ANother and a few others. THen I used I'll have another on top as well.

THis is how I see the race setting up. I think BOde will be all out for the lead. I think I'll have another will get an amazing trip while the fresh horses are challenging Bode for the lead. I think that bode will tire and run like 3rd or 4th. That being said, I think that I'll have another can win. I don't see him being less then 2.5 to one. But, I can also see him getting beat by someone other then BOde.

 

Your scenario sounds plausible. I will throw went the day into the mix I still like creative cause to finish high. If bode gets a good start he will be tough to beat.

Tell me why they had to do this now? This horse winning the triple crown would have been great for the sport. Now all the ignorant folks will bring this junk up and question it. Doug O'neil is no saint my friend. As far as the ruling for this, the boards finding says that he didn't officially "milk SHake" the horse. So, he will get the minimium if it is not appealed and reduced.

 

He was the second choice behind Boddie. He was 3 to one, Boddie was 2 or 8/5 depending on where you wagered.

From the early lines, I'll Have ANother is 4/5 before the posts have bee drawn.

Here is the big thing. I read today that hall of famer Jerry Baily will be tutoring the Jockey of I'll Have ANother around the Belmont course. This is huge because the kid has never ridden at Belmont. If this horse has anything left, this could prove to be the difference.
