laced i dont know what your using for the top.but man if your using a tarp or something similar you better find away to anchor that kennel to the concrete..good hard wind and it will fly away bud.And noooo I wouldnt put a mature apbt in that setup .I would do like AGK said and go around the outside of it with some hog pannel man.or inside.

it dont take a hurricane wind..I had one blow over on me in Michigan and thats a long ways from a hurricane. You got that top zip tied down, a nice wind gets uner it and it will flip.Your dogs on the loose at that point..I had it happen twice ,im tellin you man anchor that bitch down lol.

Yeah I agree with Bahaman , I was gonna tell you to anchor them down to the concrete, more for security reasons.

Now I can see them better lol the bottom around the concrete looks like there is enough gaping space for the pup to get out. Or for a grown dog to get loose .. Not sure how to secure it properly to the concrete but I am sure someone here does. I am clueless when it comes to building shit not my area of expertise lol...

a hammer drill, a bracket of some sort to loop over the bottom of the kennel, and some consert screws thru the bracket and into the concrete. it will stay put

  13. LWG I only have 1 simple suggestion. I did the exact same thing on the top of mine. Welded wire fencing covered by a high quality tarp. You're going to need some support for the tarp or it's gonna cave in when it rains. It will start to pool somewhere and just continue to get deeper until it collapses. When I first did mine I put one 12ft 2x4 across the middle. Well that took care of the rain no problem, but when I finally got a huge snow last winter it piled up a couple feet deep while I was gone to DC for work. It sunk the fencing down a little on both sides of the 2x4 and as it melted it started pooling up on the right side. All the water went to that spot as it continued to melt. Well I had mine attached good enough and a bad ass tarp that it didn't come loose at all. The sides of the kennels collapsed in and down as it bent the top pole of the kennel and the vertical support pole on the kennel side too. Must have been at least 50 or 60 gallons of water and the tarp is hanging about 5 inches off the ground and it looked like a fucking swimming pool. My fix it was adding 2 more 2x4's across the top for more support and I've never had a problem with it since. Just my one and only suggestion :)

ill grab a couple just to be safe, thats easy enough lol good lookin out boog,
on the flip side its not really a tarp its more of a mesh persay, so water is going to collect and gather but it will also slowly leak through, but yea i think adding 4 or 5 2x4s across the top will solve the rain collection all together.

good thing it doesnt snow in the valley, or id be fucked!

  15. Here ya go man I know that's kind of a fucked up explanation, but here's what I mean. The red is the poles that bent, the blue arrows are the direction they bent, the yellow is where I placed the 2x4's all the way across for support. :) Oh they bent as far as the arrows show too lol

holy hell how did you not lose the dog?? lol

  17. Wasn't one in there lol. I was gone out of town and it was almost zero outside. My dad was taking care of them and they were inside in kennels. Basically the whole right side was about 10 inches off the ground. Then it gets up to 65 2 days later and that's when the disaster happened. Good old midwest weather!

Any type of roofing should be slanted at a angle to prevent water build up in the middle.

  19. It is slanted now that the 2x4's are under it lol 1 3/4 inches to be exact lol. Plenty to keep water running off. I had the 1 2x4 in the middle and it was always enough to run the water off. It was only when the snow piled up that the 2 sides sagged some and when the snow melted it was all over.
