This is ridiculous, and i think we both know that being pro-choice has nothing to do with what you have mention above.

No man, i'm not blessed with your incredible insight. You obviously haven't understod me. I want YOU to tell ME YOUR ARGUMENTS! You're telling synno to stick to arguments and keep the debate to the topic, why don't you do the same. If you have the argument, why don't you just tell me?

Stop with this "use a little common sense" shit. That is just a poor excuse for not knowing what to say.

  3. I think it comes down to freedom of choice. My body is supposed to be my property as a sovereign individual. No government or any other person should have the right to tell me what I (or anyone else) can or cannot do with my own body (provided that I am not causing harm to others - I've seen some nutso arguments come up here, I don't need anyone twisting my words into saying rape is a choice or something....).

Another matter is that morals are subjective and not a matter of law. If assisted suicide is wrong for you as a person due to spiritual, religious, or other beliefs that is just as much your right to feel like that as it is mine to feel the opposite way. That is why this choice should be made on an individual personal level and the law does not belong involved in it except for in ways that ensure people are not euthanized against their will.

Alot of people on this thread seem very uncapable of applying basic life skills, and morals that the average person gathers through out the typical journey of life. There nothing worse than having to explain what should be common knowledge, or common sense, before you can begin to get your point across on the topic at hand. Its really a waste of time and i think some of you are "playing dumb" and acting like you can't see the obvious answers that are common sense,or just average morals.

No i don't agree with every abortion case, but i do think if a woman is raped, she should have a choice to have an abortion. The same common sense thinking applies to this topic. There is different situations but over all i see nothing wrong with what the doc was doing. If they want to die bad enough they could do it there selves, but maybe they don't want the son/daughter to find them with there brains splattered all over the wall.So he provided a clean way out.Whats wrong with that??

I consider myself religious... but I've also seen family members die a slow painful death of cancer, alzheimer's, etc... So where i can see why someone would want to go out with their diginity and go out while they were still of sound mind.... and God forbid I ever have to make that choice... I can't imgaine choosing to kill myself.

I believe that everything happens for a reason whether we understand the reasoning or not doesn't matter.. I don't believe we were meant to understand everything.... and i believe that even the suffering you would endure through a slow death that it still is a learning experience and that there is a reason you are going through it. So while I do not fault anyone for makign the choise to end their life... i could not do it. Likewise with abortion.. I am personally against it... but I don't believe it to be my place to force my beliefs on anyone.

As for us just being "animals" I believe it is more than a higher brain capacity that seperates from our dogs... and all animals will always finish a DISTANT second to any human in my eyes.

But I believe that to will vary from belief to belief.... just my two cents.

any one with personal experience of incurable deseases and conditions which not only rob a loved of dignity , but riddle them with unbearable pain and suffering "know" exactly whch side of the debate they are on.............and anyone who is in the same situation themselves(unbareable pain and suffering), which in reality many of us will end up in , "knows" exactly which side of the debate they will be on....if you believe you will live to a ripe old age fit and healthy , then die peacefully in your sleep , surrounded by loved ones , bathing in gods glory as he lifts you to heaven....then good luck in life and death, because thats not the reality most of the worlds population will experience...people need to personalise the experience to themselves as an individual, and what they would want if they were in that position........dispite a few misguided religous fanatics, the majority of human beings know the rights and wrongs of this old..old argument........the biggest problem in this debate isnt whats right and wrong, but how it is implemented on a mass scale by the state.....
you can willing give your "healthy" life to the cause of a government,..through a war, if they can convince you it is for the greater good of all.............but the moment you decide to give your own life away to your own cause, which benifits no one but you people wish to have a say over "your" life.......suicide is not illegal as far as im aware,.......and i really dont see how it can be anyones business if individuals wish to end their own life for reasons we may find trivial...........the only concerns are in the promotion and money which has latched on to this debate by groups and agencies with unclear agendas........who will go out of their way, to promote and help individuals end it all when they are more than capable of having long fulfilling lifes ..this i cannot agree with .

James: You can't talk about common sense when it comes to a subject that is wildly debated with people all over the world having different opinions. Your opinion is not the common sense.

fuck it........ill tell you what.....ive died once....clinically....heart stopped......ill not say how or why....but i did....now.....i smelt flowers.....apparently thats the brains way of calming you down....like letting go......i can remember crying...thinkinmg i was dying.....and it really was like going asleep....like your really tired!!....when i was brought round the surgeon said a certain few things to me that ill not discuss on here....but.....i knew i didnt want to go......i seriously cried..he told me to count to 15 seconds and it'll be sorted...i woke up sorted......nothing worse than having a shitty life yet still wanting to live!if you dont respect life on the whole.....then make your choice...but dont put others in that situation!dangerous subject this.

Your right, but you have to use common sense and understand that there's different situations where different rules apply. It different opinions for everyone, and people need use that common sense to understand there's no right or wrong in these situations. It should be decided upon by the individual, the family, and the others that matter. Not by the general public or the government. In the end its your life and you should be able to do with it as you please.

She is 12, and there for is not an adult to make such a choice...yet another scenario where common sense comes into play.

peppa, that's true. Mental illness can be just as painful as somatic illness, but your decisions can be affected by your condition and killing a person who might not know what they r doin is just wrong.

if this is a topic on human vs animal ( but if not then disreguard)

first (human) is a term used to descibe an animal wich i am not .. we are man made different by God in his image wich meens we are imortal not the body but the soul ...
even giveing a little on the subject is dangerous and should not be done .. animals are to be bred raised eatin worked used and culled . it is no where cloe to being the same an animals life has no value other than what a man gives it...

IT IS NO WHERE CLOSE TO THE SAME THING ...

fblb: Stop using this f-ing "common sense" as your only source. Common sense doesn't tell you anything, it is different for everybody. U mean that a 12 year old girl with brutal leucemia with constant pain should not be able to make that decision
