Is anyone using Waccamaw blood and producing anything?

Yup I saw what you posted and that brings me back to the point the young guy was talking bout. That is one 1/4 of wacc blood and the guy is worried bout full blown wacc family blood and he wont win unless he cross that a stuff he got with something else. So in laymans terms.Nobody is winning with just wacc rbj blood.

 

I know of a young waccamaw bred dog that's a recent winner, not bred by wacc. Because you don't hear or see anyone hyping up their dogs online or in mags, doesn't mean no one isn't still using & utilising the line.

 

Thats true but over the years nobody is coming out with winners from wacc. You just claimed one. My point is still proven. Nobody is winning with them dogs

 

Most winners are outcrossed now days , but outcrossing has been done since they arrived in this country many years ago.I do see a difference as some of the outcrossing of todays dog come from non working families that once upon a time was worked.Can it still work ? Yes , and new comers have to start somewhere.Just keep a open mind and look for the best performers from a good outcross.

 

Ok , lets go past.I am not asking folks to post dogmen of today .So post up some dogs from the past that are winners without a outcross in 4 generations and exclude Colby .

 

Burns dogs are still around I assure you. Got to see quite a yard of Burns & Crews dogs still being upheld to the standard of winning, only issue is I've known that camp for years and not 1 dog will make it out of their grips. They might give one to a friend or so who might end up breeding and selling one or two but the literally since the day I've known them always kept their stock home. So in a way you are correct because pretty much nobody else really has them. There is a ton of RBJ dogs through Termite still around, Lockjaw still has plenty of it and it's not crossed to death. I would say off what I seen they have probably the best available because those dogs are still competing.

 

True, I know several folks who have said to have gotten a few and none of them were shown. Now I don't know if they weren't shown because they were kept for breeding or what but I don't see them. I hear about them all the time and how bad they are but don't see nobody showing them at all. Maybe it's the weight class they are generally in but as much as you hear how amazing they are you would think you would see or hear about more winners.

 

Finally someone with some sense. That's my whole point exactly. You hear about people having them but nobody is winning with them and its true and most of you guys know it but wont stand up and say it. Rock n rye is correct because if they was so badass why aint people showing these dogs. He is right that you would at least see or hear more bout them

 

I can't speak on other Wacc dogs qualities or consistency as I haven't seen a lot. But both the parents to the afor mentioned dog were also winners.
Most lines that get popular through hype get peddled without most dogs ever being checked lowering the quality of that line. I know of a wacc dog that was bred dispite him refusing to run, reason pretty pedigree. For any line to go forward then the qualities that made that line what it was has to be maintained through good selective breeding.

 

I dont think its about ppl not standing up and saying that "they aint doin' shit" . Prolly more of being respectful to someones hard work...as i am sure there are a few on here that ACTUALLY have a yard full of dogs and those that do know what it takes to maintain it! To sit here and say that 20+ yrs of this guys hard work is total shit would not be right IMO. I think more of "rating" an individual dog than a whole yard. He has done the do and there are titles to prove it. Maybe this thread will take a turn..i appreciate RnR & Slims take on things. I am pretty sure on the Bible there was a dispute close to this and folks using them as punching bags which to me is silly im not going to pay the feed bill and scoop poop for a punching bag.

 

I don't know Wac but I have heard from people I respect he is a good dogman.I don't know about his dogs of today but he has been there.

 

The young man that started the thread could have done lot worse than Wac dogs.

Nobody said his 20 years of breeding is shit. All I'm saying is that his dogs are winning...am I right or wrong? Sure they have pretty peds but the performance isnt there to back it up. Im glad the young guy got some wacc blood but truth of the matter is the it's not coming from winning stock as of lately and was is even worst that I hear that his is charging crazy money for pups.

Thats all cool, but really?? 1k for a pup with nobody winning or even using these dogs? I wouldnt buy one jmo. Im not bashing the guy but if I was huntinghogs I would find a better source that is actually doing something with them and most likely a cheaper price than 1k
