C2K, just wondering why Wilder crossed with the hounds? Did he give a reason? Was he making farm/hunting dogs and got carried away or what? Seems crazy to have access to good dogs and breed to hounds like that.

My dog's got the widow's peak, but I'm not worried about it. She's a good enough dog for me, but I am curious as to how and why they came around....

 

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that the man holding that widow peeked mixed breed mut in the video is none other than the great dogman Andrea Giroux. Have a good day. LOL

Since SDJ closed in 2006 this dog was not a sporting recognized champion.
The widow peaks come from the bottom side.
The top side comes from friends who used to buy dogs from me decades ago.
They use to host shows in Austria. Frank Rocca was there and saw some of the stock I sent them.

I'm surprised how you are defending that stock after what was done to you.
Oh yes I have the information.
How about showing a dog of the strain of OFRN that doesn't have that bloodline in it with widows peak?
Once again name dropper, you know who to call when you want to see the quality of a true American PIT Bull Terrier.

 

Funny most these pictures I have saw were black nose dogs and most were out of the country, which we all know the majority were paper hung.

I STILL haven't seen ONE Picture of an OFRN with widows peak that wasn't Wilder bloodline in it.

Andra didn't have dogs with widows peak. There to many us around still that knew Andra and was on his yard and seen his stock.
BTW did you know Andra? Have you been to his yard?

I remember when the Late Danny Powell aka Tattoo had Mrs. Giroux breed Rocky back to his grandmother Ch. Our Gal Sunday.

None of the dogs that came off Ch. Milou had it or Ch. Gunner. Ti-Mouse, Exit, I could go on and on about Andra's dogs.

As Ironhead, it has been address to many times, about Floyd stating Ironhead came from him.
If you ever seen Boze dogs you can see the differences.
I have seen many pictures of smut colored dogs.
Show those old OFRN dogs from the people I have named in the pass who had it.

Yes, Jake did admit to me he bred to Coon Dogs to add more fight into his coon dogs or didn't any of you know Jake also had coon dogs?
Well Doyle had some, you ask him or call Jack Kelly former owner of SDJ.
Both are still alive and ask them!

I put Crazy Horse on the phone (3 way) with both Palmer and Danny and both talked about Jake breeding out to other breeds. Jake did admit it to them as well. There many alive who knew this.

IMO I find it hard to see Coon Dogs in those widows peak dogs, but for the record I do know a couple well known dogmen/breeders back in the early 70's, I know for a fact bred their dogs out to other breeds and sold them off.
So this widows peak I have seen decades ago off stock I knew was mutt bred.
Then as today, IMO it looks like German Shepard bred into them.

 

Now if you want see some pictures of Dogmen I will show you some of them with me.
I had to go into the old system to find them.

 

do you think one of your dogs could be trained as a coondog or has anyone ever heard of this before its been on my mind for a while to take a pup and let it get trained around a grown coondog to learn. it would make an interesting talent for a gamedog
