Agree with ben Brockton. I have been around at least a day or two and I have always wondered where the fast lane was located.

It may be linked to fast money but I am still guessing.

There he is. Ol BB! I think the term "fastlane" is used to make one feel superior to another. Like how ppl out price the next guy. The dogs should prove what's worth what, not the fool wit the money. I'm not saying that there shouldn't be high $ contests, just not ALL of em.

Some circles are faster than others. Some circles 5K is a big bet, in some that might be a minimum.

all these " big pot's" was just the same bank roll being passed around by the same folks. you could find the same "active" folks playing big or small. it was "joe" from down the road hanging tin on the weekends not "saul" from wall street. BB doubt youd get 50k in pot ammount adding up all the real match reports from the old time mags lol. Side action is where all the stupid money is layed on something from folks that have verry little to do with anything other then being close to the action.

A wager is just that a wager nothing more nothing less. Somehow got twisted and got all these young guys fucked up.

I would say the fast lane pertains to hit the road,,,
any one,,, anywhere for big sums...

Some hillbillies are so good the fast lane detours in those hills,,,
some pack up like the beverly hillbillies with their texas tea money and venture out to try their hand on the road,,,
BB dont believe in a fast lane because he lives an the deadend,,,
you either turn around and hit it again or you hit the islands...

BB,,, your right some live in it,,, either their city,,, county or state...
but most of the world might never experience that level of compitition...

A friend from upstate ny told me there were three lanes,,,
the fast that travel and live that lifestyle,,,
the middle that hold there grounds but will pass in the fast lane,,,
and those whom get on just to get off at the next exit or county...

Not knocking none as they all are needed,,,
But also understand the difference in a "LOCAL CHAMPION" and a "WORLD CHAMPION",,,
its the opportunity to see if your local competition is world class...

as breeder its a must or you dont really know what you have and if its evolving with the rest of the world...

I tend to agree somewhat with BB and Slim on this one. But I understand the term and what people mean.

    Here is my opinion:

The "fastlane" exists in the minds of those who have been persuaded to buy into a form of ELITISM.

There is great competition everywhere. Just some are happy with a handful recognizing the quality of dogs they have opposed to having the accolades of many.

To say that the best competition happens in ONE SECTOR is ludicrous. There may be places where some of the most well known bring THEIR BEST to compete. But THEIR BEST is only a fraction of the great bulldogs being fed.

Some would be eliminated from "fastlane" simply because they refuse to travel, can't travel, won't spend big money, can't spend big money, trust very few, trust no one. Etc

So there are alot of would be contenders who are never present when some folk bring THIER BEST and dub themselves THE ELITE FASTLANE. so I guess by default they are assumed the best of the best by some.

Good point. I do agree that it's important to evaluate your stock against the best you possibly can. And sometimes that will mean hitting the road unless you are surrounded locally by folks doing right by the dogs.

    BB is surrounded by it,,,
the islands were also,,, at least post nine eleven,,,
I dont know now but understand the two are similar in that the local comp is better than most,,,
but when one Island visited the other,,, it was all out warfare with a different type of pride,,,
in that if someone fro say D.R. beats someone from P.R.,,, there is a different type of pride there which also
    brings the absolute best...
When people traveled from the states,,, the islanders brought their A game and you better believe if someones getting on a boat or plane that they are not bringing a B class bulldog...

the difference would be a local bracket and the travelling bracket,,,
the stresses of travel a dog and handler occurs can only be brought by the best to overcome...

Fatbill understood the difference in the two and to become an agdt champion you had to win four instead of three and beat some notable dogmen or dogs to boot,,, for good reason to separate the elite indeed...

100k= 1k per person so that is 100 people per side in which some people equate more people to the term fast lane. LMAO

alot of heads in one place,,,
    more room for problems,,,
unless your in mexico or some where...

charge 1k as a entry fee,,,
with a pick to get 180 percent back if your pick wins,,,
10 percent of all the entry fees goes to the winner,,,
as I like the old times when the winner got the entry fees also...

where ever it might be legal this might apply,,,
we might be up to something here saiy,,, lmao also...
10 percent of a 100k and the dog and handler are backed by the entry fee and loose nothing,,,
the handler putting up or loosing nothing might make for more sound judgements,,,
and the dogs might not come second to the money...
