I am looking for (not selling) a book that is rich in photographs of the varied game breeds of chickens. I have seen books that show various breeds, but those included samples of many breeds without focusing on game breeds. From what I have seen, the game breeds are often remarkably pretty birds.

If anyone knows titles, let me know.

There was some god magazines back in the day that introduced alot of chicken men to other types of fowl,,,
    I agree very beautiful birds...

I remember an old timer saying that man don't fight his bitches because he was a chicken man,,,
I figured he meant the man was a chicken and didnt understand what he meant to I saw these mags,,,lol...

Odd that only males are fought,,,
in other performance animals such as race horses running a filly or a mare is very rare...

I think this practice of only testing the stud or cock is interesting but I believe that the bulldogs being from linage tested on both sides makes for a superior performance family,,, romancing the stone...lol...

Not necessarily true Thai hens have been fought And many other hens can be sparred up to determine the best hen to breed but it can only be done certain months of the year since hens carry eggs

Find some old GameCock Mags.. Not in publication any longer.. Great mags, see whos winning with what & where.. Plus tons of info.. I still have several but not wanting to get rid of any.. not many "test" hens.. You can seee dominate ones on the yard at feeding time, some hens just mean.. But in fowl you know by the brothers.. Horses, same.. Contrary to what others say, it is & can be the same in dogs.. I know a dogman or two who has been in for the long haul & whom have made names & lines.. They dont hunt bitches.. That said, they have also had several ch & grCh bitches.. Anyway, we got off track, Fowl, yes Fowl are very fun..
Never heard this, which , Ive only been around fowl since 90 though . So lots have changed I guess the few Ive been out of the loop.

I think it's a asian and middle eastern thing I've never seen an American hen sparred only oriental games. And they usually can be sparred after they laid a clutch this way no broken eggs inside .. it's probably been done for centuries especially with how far back the asil breed goes
