Can anyone give me some conditioning tips??? Im gonna start showing my dogs in the next month or so starting at the ADBA show in TEXARKANA and want to place among some of the best dogs. I have blue dogs (dogs from blue blood) so i heard some ADBA judges look over blue dogs so i wanna get a strict conditioning routine going so my dogs can have a chance. Im also gonna start weight pulling so i could use some condition tips for that too. Thanks in advance

I know my red fawn will not do good in conformation but i want to condition him as much as possible for weight pulling. He is only about 6months already 60lbs. His dad was 110lbs and Mom was about 60 or 70, He is kinda scatter bred but a very good dog. He is codeiro, choas/watchdog/hughzees, lonzo

But i got faith in my blue male he is from some old razor edge dog when the were game breed back in that day...(only about 10yrs ago) He is far from bully and doesnt act like a bullys for some reason he like to fight alot with anything male female he even jumped on a puupy one time that he wasnt familiar with and i tore him a new asshole for that. He is very territorial i am tryin to get his temperament under control as we speak. His bloodlins are 50% razor edge 25% Gaff 15% Cordeiro 10% Winegarner. I guess thats scatter bred also but he is a good looking dog and a good pet beside the fighting situation.

    Walk, Walk, Walk.
    Flirtpole
    Walk.
    Drag weight.
Walk, walk, and walk some more!
    LOL

That's what I do, you will get better advice from others I'm sure, everyone has a different routine, that's just the easiest for me.

Genetics plays a role too though, some dogs have big/bulky muscles and some have long/lean muscles.

ETA: 6 months is too young to start conditioning.

I do it for 3 days, then a day of rest. Then 3 days, then rest and so on. I don't know how others do it, but that's what works for me and my dogs. But even on their rest days, they still get exercise in the yard just running around.

You may be feeding him too much if he is overweight, try cutting back his food, or he may just be a bigger dog in the end...his sire was rather...large. But for exercise, puppies can use the flirtpole too, just don't make them jump for it. You can also play ball with him, I just wouldn't do anything intense yet.

I just switch from Diamond Extreme Athelete Chicken and Rice with no corn and no by-products. I think that was 25% fat 30% protein (or the other way around) Now i feed diamond hi- energy for working dogs and that 20% fat and 25% protein. I give him 2 1/2 cup to 3 cups.

    All you need is a
    rope toy

    string

    Bamboo or A PVC pipe

Tie the rope to the String then attach the other end on the bamboo or PVC

    :)

That Gaff Corderio blood is mainly Staff. This is just my opinion it is going to be tough to place in a ADBA show with a blue. That Razors Edge is Bully and Staff and a few more things. They have a club I think it is call the ABKC....
I had a Corderio dog just like everyone else said I walked and ran the hell out of him. I even took him swimming. He lost alot of fat. Looked very good but was nothing like a standard APBT.He was about 75 pounds.
