Just wanted to share this.

My 11 year old son, after a long discussion with him about the events unfolding in regards to Our local law makers decision to further investigate BSL and look at changing the vicious dog laws here, wanted to write a letter, So I told him if he writes it I will help him with it as far as content is concerned as well as getting it to the appropriate sources, and he agreed. So I though to myself, here is a good chance to do some real good for this breed and turn the ASPCA's and HSUS (as well as a long list of other active retards that flurish in my home town) own propaganda tactics agince them. Use a kid to do the dirty work! He wrote a well thought out letter, that has made me more proud of him than I have ever been proud of anything before. My end of the bargain is to get this letter to anyone and everyone who will listen or has an influence in the media (at both a local and state level as well as my many international outlets such as internet medias and forums, also any other lawmaker, city council member, all the way up till someone wants to really look at the real facts regarding Vicious dog attacts and Breed profiling) It may not make a difference but the situation has made me more aware of the realities of BSL and I refuse to sit on the side lines while some law makeing fuck wads rape my right to own my dogs due to undue process........

My name is Jacob Van Luven and I'm 11 years old. I have lived with many American Pit Bull Terriers my entire life. I belive that, when these dogs are in the proper, responsible minded persons hands, they are wonderful, devoted, loving, loyal pets. The OWNERS of such breeds of dogs as the APBT, as well as, any dog deemed vicious due to an actual occurance and not by breed profiling alone, Yes the breed has an aggressive side to it at times in regards to other animals typically, but I have seen them live in perfect harmony with not just other dogs, but Cats too. Used at one time for dog to dog combat, but more recently in history, phenominal household companions who are extremely devote to there masters, are who are responsible for the proper up bringing of ANY breed of dog. The owners of the dog, are the ones who should be held responsible for these types of incidents that occur so often these days. Of course, this would be dependant on the factors that lead up to such an attack. The amount of attacks that you stated in your article are only because the popularity of the breed itself, in it's true form or more likely the culprit, a cross-breeding of other breeds, therefore being mutts, not APBT's, as the media likes to refer to, it seems, every dog that attacks a person these days, possibly, to maybe sell a few more copies of your newspaper rather than reporting real, true statistics of the breed, published by actual experts of the breed? The true American Pit Bull Terrier is a loyal, man friendly breed, that is in the top 5 most sound temperments out of all breeds tested (the true statistics are not hard to find). Also, they are not currently, or in the history of the breed, been know to be human aggressive by nature, but like any breed of dog, will do what it is raised to do, maybe with a little bit more intensity, due to the drive of most APBT's. More attention needs to be looked at the irresponsible owners, who knowingly, raise and allow such occurances to happen in the first place. Also, the cities purposal to ban tethering or chaining of a dog will only further complicate this matter. A proper chain set up and perimeter fencing are what keeps some breeds of dogs (specificly, the APBT) safe from both the public, (sadly due to poor reporting by the people writing these types of articles) as well as from themselves due to there strength and drive to do their will. Please, don't judge the masses for what a few may do, especially when the opinions are coming from people who probally never even seen a true American Pit Bull Terrier or Pitbull as the media likes to slur........

this was written by an 11 yr old? pretty smart kid. he writes more articulate than i do and im 23! lol

 

He wrote the main message, I just made it more appealing to a larger audience. He knew what he wanted to say just not how to say it. So While he did write the original copy of this letter, I went over it to try to add impact to the message..... you like the pictures, I though it was a great touch (his idea all day by the way), if I could only get some sad pictures of him with his best friends and maybe play a song that tugs at peoples heart strings, maybe then I can get people to send money to me....lmao j/k but he is a very smart kid (I have no idea where he gets it from) My daughter has always shown more interest in the dogs than he does or maybe she just like to pick up dog shit more than he does.....lol, but this event has shown me that maybe I'm wrong about that.....Any which way it plays out, he has mad me very proud just to want to try to speak out agince something he views as an injustice...... Very proud indeed.

I got a call today from the newspaper that we sent this letter too and they are going to publish it..........

 

if you can post the article that would be great id love to read what they gotta say, now if somebody in every major city can stand up and take a step like this!

 

It seems to me that, there is enough people no make some noise and be heard, just from the amount of people on the forums alone and really be able to make some real change, but most don't for what ever reason. It's not so easy it seems to organize such a thing, but I'm down for a Million Mutt March! lol

 

yea it sounds good how many people would take that much time on a gamble, if it works out for you hopefully it would motivate folks to speak up!
