I feed Victor.... But I need to cut my feed bill

I feed my dogs the Pro Plus food which is a great kibble! The dogs love it and they all seem to be doing very well on it. The issue is that i haven’t been able to find it cheaper than $50/40lb bag. I running through a several bags a month and need to find a good kibble but at more affordable costs.

Prior to feeding Victor, I fed the Costco brand and my dogs did okay on it. Not the best but not the worst either. I am looking for kibble high in protein & fat, with a similar formula to the victor and something I can be fed my pups too (I have are few) with no issues. What are some of you guys feeding?

Diamond natural all life stages chicken and rice formula.
No wheat, no corn, no soy
Says it's for all breeds...small, medium, large
Scored a A on the dog food advisor
40 lbs for $34 I just paided at ASPCA loving tractor supply.
I still supplement in the morning and kibble at night.

 

I fed the Diamond Naturals chicken and rice for quite a spell.Over 5 yrs and its decent feed.I decided to try Wholesomes Chicken and Chick peas formula and.I like it better.Little more expensive but a little better.quality in m6 book.Both are decent.not great.

 

Sportmix. You pick the flavor... add some used cooking grease to up the fat

 

You just have to keep an eye out for recalls so they dont kill your dog..

 

Have you tried a different victor the blue bag the beef one is around 34$

 

I feed this as well. Have yet to loose a dog from them eating it but I guess anythings possible these days. Been feeding it for at least 5 years now.

 

Not too awful long ago(and for a good spell) diamond was having a lot of recalls and ppl did lose dogs during that stretch.

They may have tightened up but I personally wouldn't risk it.

And I know Tyson recalls chicken every year yada yada yada... just my personal paranoia.

 

I feed Diamond to never had any problems.

This is just the OLDEST article in a quick scan. They had issues up to 2012 with recalls/deaths.

If it works for you fine but truth is they have killed ppls animals

 

Yes I remember the recall on diamond.

 

Over the years I have fed different things like bil-jac and Science Diet too.

 

I remember the recalls also.I never lost or had a dog get sick from eating Diamond either.I still like Diamond but I like the Wholseomes a little better.

 

Hell I used to feed it when all the recalls happened. I personally think that theres better for around the same price point and with a little leg work you could find far better at the same.

But if you fellas like it and it works that's all that matters. I'm leary of it myself. My luck I'd lose the whole yard in one bag.

 

I couldn't find any better for the price in this small town .I know folks that order online but from what I've saw the feed online is quite a bit more expensive.I've know I've saw Victor cheaper at private owned farm stores.I can't get Victor around here.

 

I haven't been able to find the same quality of feed at a lesser price up here either. No Victor here either.

 

I can drive 30 miles one way and get it.Almost did but I gave the Wholesomes Grain Free a try and just wound up liking it.Its about 5 miles from my house to get the Wholesomesi

 

There's a 50 lb bag of victor at the feed store for about the same price as diamond. I prefer my dog food sans corn though.
I've been feeding diamond about 15 years now. Never had a problem definitely never had one die.
Over the years I've tried a few different ones...bill jak, black gold, and such. It always comes back around to diamond though.

Idk about you agk. That far north with that many liberal fur parents running things you may be struck...

Between diamond and sportmix I'd pick sportmix if it was available. But again that's just my personal taste.

Like I just told SMD dogs are like fucking, some like black girls from the back some like 90 lbs Thais to ride neither are wrong if we both nut.
