humane society was here this am said some one c/o our dogs not having any water... took her on the tour she states they all look great and was really impressed in and our in 6min. asked about baby girl told her she was at her old parents house on a visit. she did not give me anything or say anything was wrong.
I loose sleep over this contiually...I have severe PTSD and have my limits that are coming close to boiling point. this is the 4th time they have been here all unfounded. There advice was request copies of the complaints and file harrassment charges with the PD. I know alls well and ends well but due to my condition I do crazy things like go outside at 3am because I thought I heard a dog bowl flip over and worried they will come by before I wake up and take them away for neglect.

Sorry to hear. It's a shame you have to put up with that.

I know what you mean though, no one has called on us thankfully, but I am always worried that if someone ever does, it will be a day that one of the bowls is tipped over or one of the days I was going to wash the bowls.

Sounds like you have a tree hugger for a neighbor, probably smiles in your face every time you see them.....take care.

Has anyone else ever noticed this but every Humane Society "enforcer" is always ***EDIT: NO slurs whether it be against someone's race, ethnicity, religion or sexual preference! -Mia ***. Is it a requirement or just a coincidence?

I always offer them food and make sure they get to see some pics of my hot wife:D

Seriously, I always make nice small talk and then whisper about how my neighbors feed their dog crap and don't love theirs the way I love my dogs.

no they are fat people who are foster parents for handicapped adults....who I always offer help to them if they ever need it as I am a nurse who worked for 3 yrs with profoundly MR kids. The complaint was for dehydration...I responded did they jump my 6 ft fence and perfom a skin turgor or run labs that dx'd them with this condition? I just hope I dont snap...all kidding aside I got poped in the head with a souviner bat once and didnt know it till after the other dude was out. Then I felt the back of my head and wondered where the allien implant came from lol

It happends to many MtnMan.. try not to sweat it too bad.

Best thing to do is keep detailed records of the incident. For example WHO came, their name, the time of day, the "comlaint", what the person said, etc. You are absolutely correct, how do they know your dogs are dehydrated? Are they a vet? They are only assuming they are (the dogs dehydrated). Of course, by law they have to investigate any reports.. so i would also be trying to find out who reported the dogs and why. You should also find out what type of authority your local HS has. They are not generally police officers and certain restrictions apply to what they can and cannot do, enter, etc.

Sounds like you did the best thing, you stayed calm, in control of the situation and all your dogs had water.

  9. Good points here!

You need to RECORD each "visit". If you have a video camera...use it! Also follow the AC advise and file harrassment charges.

Did they not say, "There advice was request copies of the complaints and file harrassment charges with the PD." There advice was request copies of the complaints and file harrassment charges with the PD." Well? Get to it! lol Make sure everyone knows that you will scratch back HARD if you get harrassed.

the little lady ordered the reports they wont release the names but did say different adresses. So little chance of a harrassment charge. I would like to know how they know if my dogs have water through the 6ft cedar fence...the angle is impossible to look down onto. I just ordered 64oz stainless steel bowls with holders that bolt onto the side of the kennels just incase one tip a bowl over jumping. http://www.gundogsupply.com/stainsteelco.html

  11. If you now have the information, go to the police and file complaints. Law enforcement will be able to get the missing information for you and will investigate and talk to those complainants. A talk from law enforcement may be enough to stop their harrassment. At the very least, AC will get to know your name/address and may disregard future "complaints" since they have appeared 4 times and found no value to those claims. Keep going, you are heading in the right direction.:)

mntman.. I don't know about the laws where you live but I recall where I use to live that it was ILLEGAL for people to simply peek over your privacy fence, including the AC.. I know someone you should talk to on the matter lol

If you can hang a bucket it might work out better for you. The biggest bonus is you can move them around if need be and it is easier to clean. The stationary rings have always caused me grief when housing animals. If an animal can get hung up or tear somthin up... they will. IMO those mounted rings are a pain in the ass...

The bucket and carribeaners are an alternative to mounting those rings.
