  1. Someone shared this with me this morning, and I really enjoying watching it. Thought I would share here as well.

  4. Fixed it I used the html embed code instead of the code for php boards. Should be better now. As a bird owner by the way watching this video is amazing. I know my macaw would probably hunt and kill me if she were big enough, and I think this video affirms it for me. Hah hah.

there is not much difference between the size of Australias Wedge tailed Eagle and them golden eagles, and our wedgeys are absolutely massive, and the wolves they are taking down are not the same size as what you would have in the states, just watch the footage again , the wolves they are taking out are not much bigger than a coyote, and the ones that are end up with two birds on them.

there is another vid , with info on how they bring up the birds and train them for such a job, and the average golden eagle will be in training for eight years before they are even used for the job, one hunter will only have one working bird and one in training incase the worker gets hurt.

the crazy part is the mongolians go and steal the young in season and the places they have the nests is nearly as crazy as the hunting itself.

You would be amased how many people are into falconry all over the world. What I admire in it except from the birds, is the precision required to control them, measuring their weight all the time and keeping a log of amount of food, feeding time, bird reactions to really small changes, it is amazing.
