How To Get Your Dog To Use a Spring Pole?

Discussion in 'Training & Behavior' started by Melcon_Pitbulls, May 9, 2014.

  1. I need help getting one of my dogs to use the spring pole. She loves the flirt pole and loves playing Tug-o-War but I can't seem to get her to use the spring pole. She will bite it some times but lets go immediately. I have tried using tires, ropes, bite pillows but nothing works. I want to get her conditioned. Anyone have any ideas?

Instead of starting as many threads as you possibly can in different sections, try using the search feature. It's very useful!

NP, the search feature is at the top, right side of every page. The search words have to be 4 letters or longer to be searched. Any and every topic has been discussed and it can be found using the search feature. You won't have to wait for responses either, you can find it right away. Justa fyi, give your dog some time to get used to the pole, usually it's the spring making noise that scares them at first. Good luck.

hold it and play tug-o-war with it and then after the dog get used to playing some then you can hang it up . and hold the hide at first to get it started but if you play tug with it then the dog will get the idea pretty quick .
